  1. This sound like the most reasonable take I’ve read. Make a lot of sense to me. People are upset about the timing, 4 games in yada yada (not sure why), but harsin likely understands his environment and he might not have them luxury to wait until the end of the year to make this change when, as you said, he has a guy he KNOWS can do the job well on the staff. great take. Great post
  2. maybe, maybe not, but these takes that harsin has terrible judgement because he hired this guy in the first place are just bad.
  3. This. The most important thing about having “sec” guys was recruiting, IMO. But harsin needs to have guys he can trust more than we need recruiting hires right now. Again, IMO. Harsin doesnt seem like a panicky rash guy. He seem in control and decisive. On to lsu.
  4. This post wreaks of lack of context. question. In your opinion, if harsin doesn’t make the change at ab, does Auburn win yesterday?
  5. I attributed all of whites, stidham, and until penn st/today, nix’s issues with gus and his “system” but with 3.5 games under his belt with a new HC and new OC known to be a good qb coach it’s all on nix. white and stidham might have improved vastly understand this same coaching team, maybe not. It’s clear nix has not. I don’t know if Finley is the answer. Probably isn’t or he would have been playing already (maybe) but I watched a kid come in with very little time and bring a dejected team out of a 12 point hole and make the plays needed to win. just like making the change at HC, the fear of failure with the next guy should stop us from making a change from a guy who isn’t getting it down where it matters. My confidence in harsin increased today regardless of what the future holds.
  6. Harsin will be making coordinator changes with or without outside input.
  7. Herbstreet sure was fluffing the sh….stuff out of him during the penn st game.
  8. On nix’s last series, he over threw the receivers on 1st and 2nd down. On 3rd down there showed tank looking to the side line for the play abs he just started shaking his head. I knew right then he wasn’t getting the ball. 3rd down play nix runs to the right abs throws the ball away. 4th down we punted.
  9. The offense problems certainly did.
  10. Couple things 1) bo is not a good qb. He was a average to good qb with good experienced receivers and a borderline super start in Seth Williams, but without those guys, he is not a good qb. He doesn’t make decisions fast enough and more than half the time he throws the ball behind or over his receivers. With Seth making absolutely ridiculous catches we see where we are. 2) not sure how finely ends up. He was pretty bad at lsu but they had oline problems just like us. He played much better than bo today but the other think was it did seem like the team played harder when he got in there. Blocking was a little better abs guys were making tougher catches. Defense was already playing better but it seemed like they elevated too. has the team wanted this change?
  11. the most consistent thing Bo does is throw behind his receivers. he makes me pine for Brandon Cox. also, it seemed that when penn st wasn't beating us with wide open passes to their TE, they were running at will off left tackle. it was like our defense just conceded the whole left side of the formation each down.
  12. you are right that the lose is not on Bo. if we get even 15% pass rush or the coaches dont' call goofy plays at critical times we might have won. your assessment is pretty spot on about Bo, but perhaps a bit optimistic. he cannot throw a good deep ball and he consistently throws behind the WRs. i was hopeful just the difference in staff and play calling was going to be enough to get us to a win here, but man, this was a complete team loss, save Tank and Hunter. those guys are studs.
  13. this year i worry about QB (why is this almost always an issue?). If Stidham had stayed we would be a favorite to make the playoff. as it stands we will be starting a freshman one way or the other. we could be dangerous by years end, but those early games will be tough. Next year our lack of oline recruitment is going to get us.
  14. nick marshall might be the best zone read qb ever. i watch old videos from 2013 where i know he is keeping the ball and i still can't tell he has it.
  15. i think they are ok, but i have seen some videos where they look like they don't know the scheme or play and run away from the (few) holes that are open or run into the back of a lineman.
  16. this is incredible info that you know our staff has and obviously the other team has. so you have to ask. what exactly are the coaches doing?
