  1. at this point id settle for a ron zook type who can just stack O and D line talent even if the coaching chops aren't tip top, but recruiting recruiting recruit needs to be priorities A-D.
  2. Chiz won the Natty with Can but just as importantly with T-ville's senior good oline. Gus almost won the natty with chiz's continued good senior oline. The recruiting is absolutely top priority because it doesn't matter who good your plays are if the talent isn't there it doesn't matter. The talent trumps the coaching ability 9 times out of 10. Sabam isn't the best in game coach but he has the best players so it more than compensates. Same with Kirby mostly. We need someone who can get us top talent.
  3. I don't see him losing the team like chizik. Didn't chizik lose the team due to allowing the assistants show/have favoritism toward different players?
  4. Jeff fisher is just a running joke right? Just the bar at which any greater odds means a candidate isn't really an option, yes?
  5. The coaches prep the players. Idk who muffed the punt but he had no business trying to field that thing. Get away and at least keep the ball. That’s coaching. the WR pass, there should be a throw away option, didn’t look he had a clue that was an option. That’s on the coaches. the not using the read option with Robbie more, on the coaches. Continuing to call plays where it’s obvious tank is getting the ball and him getting hammered before the line of scrimmage, on the coaches.
  6. Yeah, that 2013 line was closer to the 2010 team. No game plan is going yo make up for that.
  7. This is the same attitude that kept Gus around longer than he should been, IMO. It's not the losing (or winning in this case). Its how we lose/win. That was not a competitive game today and it was against a team that will likely finish last in the east. Recruiting is not going well at all, and this is only our first sec game. If we fire harsin we might end up with another guy like him, but can't let the fear of striking out keep us from trying to get it right when its clear this ain't it.
  8. @ScotsAUmy bad, I meant I disagree with the idea of coaches not getting more time. I agree totally that harsin isn't doing anything to earn that time.
  9. I disagree here. Harsin would have support if he were making/showing progress in some way, but he isn't. He isn't killing on the recruiting trail, he isn't showing player development, he isn't winning over the fan base, and he isn't fielding a team that looks capable of winning the west. If he were doing any of these things he would have more support and probably more time, but there isn't one item anyone can point to that is going in The right direction.
  10. I'm admittedly not a coach or media member buy I'd say our biggest challenge is blocking the opposing teams defense.
  11. Quite the contrary, they kept trying to hand it to us.
  12. The more I think about sanders the more I think he is low risk/high reward. If this season goes the way it looks right now, we would be hard presses to get much worse and we know deion would bring in the talent. I agree its not very likely but I've warmed considerably over the week.
  13. If we beat LSU there is no reason we shouldn't also beat one or both ms schools. But the thrashing we will take from uga and bama will be so severe I don't think getting to 4-1 will matter much.
  14. do you not think that could be a result of where he is and maybe not his process? meaning, could he do build a program faster at Auburn? i know thats a speculative/hypothetical question.
  15. they have also paid a price in the last few years undersigning those classes.
  16. if that is the case (and it may very well be) then quite literally almost EVERYONE is better at hiding it than freeze was.
  17. yeah, look, im not naive enough to think its not possible saban and smart aren't doing the same things freeze got in trouble for, but the difference is they are smart enought not to get caught.
  18. hard to know, isn't it? he had a couple of top ten classes at ole miss, but was that due to money and prostitutes or because he was actually good at recruiting? and i got lit up for saying it but gus had 5 or 6 top ten classes, fwiw. either way, ive never heard him said to be any thing close to saban or smart as a recruiter. and to be fair ive not heard that about kiffin either.
  19. WHAT?!? as for who to start vs missou, i would pick ONE and they them play. i do not enjoy the 2 qb system.
