  1. Not much you can do when the whole front seven is bull rushing and praying for you to throw the ball down field.
  2. The talent is there. It is freaking coaching which is so sad. Why even name SW the starter?
  3. Why would we take a delay of the game right there? Why?
  4. Just way too goofy and conservative. Let the kid freaking throw
  5. Goodness...stop with the shifts and line up play.
  6. I hope so because there is no way he got any real live game experience kicking at P.A.
  7. Freaking Pula$ki Academy. ESPN did a segment about them because they always go for it on 4th down and very often onside kicks it, no matter what. Ironic that he was a kicker there seeing as they really don't utilize their kickers very often even on extra points.
  8. You are famous on the rant for this statement. In not such a good way though haha
  9. Speed wise yes. However, Sammie Coates showed the ability to get up and catch the ball between two defenders, even though he is a notorious body catcher. I haven't seen that ability from Jason Smith. Sammie was also a physical specimen when it came to strength. He could manhandle corners.
  10. IMO, Jason Smith lives up to his athlete role as a burner, but he has never struck me as a polished WR. It just seemed so unnatural. I also question the consistency of his hands.
  11. We have a stable of RBs in the backfield who all bring a different type of style to the table. Realistically, we do not need 1 major workhorse to go for 1000 yards to be productive in the backfield. We do need this RB by committee to produce when their numbered is called and to stay healthy.
  12. Ha I don't care about that at all my dude. I just want to win, win, win.
  13. This is also my belief as well Barnacle. Still sticking with my prediction that the freshman will jump Jason Smith once it is said and done.
  14. Yes, I am pretty sure sean was put in a lot of 3rd and long downs during the Kentucky and Arkansas games. Like I said, SW success hinges on how CGM schemes for him. This might make me sound like a douche but if SW doesn't pan out to a point of being serviceable, I have to conclude that Gus and/or Rhett cannot develop QBs. That would leave one of them on the chopping block and his name resembles Brett Ashlee.
  15. I would love this, but I just feel like this is a pipedream. I won't believe it until I get the news that CRL has gone to greener pastures...
  16. This is my honest opinion about SW. I think SW goes as far as CGM takes him, being that if the offense catered to his strengths, then yes he can be very good. There are just certain offenses I look at and say, "man, SW would excel in this offense." Two of them being the Gus offense of Tulsa and the offensive philosophy ran in 2009, with much more misdirection and quick hitters and less pre-QB read plays. Too many times, SW was in 3rd and long last year, which was really unfortunate.
  17. Yes, Brandon Allen was a work in progress, performing better and better each year. However, do keep in mind the Brandon Allen started on a horrible Arkansas team as an RS sophomore in 2012. It was BB first year and they were 3-9. If you think SW didn't have much help, go look at that team, especially in a completely new offensive scheme. Remember Petrino recruited Brandon Allen. The previous year, in 2012, he was a backup on an equally bad coached Arkansas team that went 4-8. John L. Smith was the coach at that time. His 2nd year with CBB, he improved, while the team also improved. He really hit his stride last year under the tutelage of Dan Enos. Of course, playing in a system for your third year and maturity helps. Brandon Allen was under 3 different HCs and 3 different OCs in his Arkansas career. For him to get drafted under those circumstances is remarkable. All this to say, I believe SW can show stark improvement as he matures and the team develops around him. Will it be mind blowing numbers? I guess we will have to wait and see.
  18. We are talking skill set. Kind of hard to compare a 6'0 QB to most others, physically wise. I think his QB coach made the same comparison, as well. Whether he is a gamer like Drew Brees remains to be seen. I just can't shake the feeling that he is much more of a game manager.
