  1. You apparently can't grasp the graph. Or maybe didn't even look at it? The huge wave of deaths were occurring when he came into office. It was too late to stop that surge. There is very good reason to blame the unvaccinated. By and large, they are also the ones opposing mask mandates, or any measure that might lessen the impact of the pandemic. Any step taken to control it is met with outcries of stolen rights and government overreach. And yet you sit there and blame everyone else about not allowing unity of purpose. I guess it's everyone else that is at fault for that, and not those that are actively preventing measures to stop the pandemic?
  2. Huh. It's almost like you're saying corporations won't do the right thing unless forced to by the government. I'm sure that's just in this case, though. Not sure about Biden, but my recollection was the CDC said 75-80% would need to be fully vaccinated for herd immunity to even have a real chance. If you have a quote that shows Biden saying 70%, with some of them only having one shot, I'd like to see it. Biden critics: He's a disaster! One of his main promises was to control the pandemic, and it's worse than ever! Biden implements additional measures to control the pandemic. Biden critics: He's unhinged! And of course this is said with no irony, while the former President is still flinging election lies like they're Mardi Gras beads.
  3. Take a close look at this graph and when the deaths occurred. Inauguration Day, as you know, is January 20. If after looking at this, you still honestly believe Biden should be considered responsible for half of the deaths, then any arguments you posit from here on that are based on your "logic" are null and void.
  4. Oh, there are definitely some on the left that could use it. Overall, though, I think the drip should funnel a bit more to the right these days.
  5. I didn't say you did. I suggested that you go ahead and say it, since it's apparent. Do you really want to keep doing this to yourself?
  6. "Perfectly healthy people getting vax'ed only makes you feel better." Care to explain how I took this out of context?
  7. I see that the way I worded it implied that I was talking about all ages. It was meant to say that you think the vaccine does nothing for anyone that is not old. Regardless, considering your stance on the vaccine's effectiveness, @Didba's post about irony looms again. For the record, I haven't resorted to name-calling. I could certainly say that you're dumb as a box of rocks, but why bother? Your posts speak it louder than I ever could.
  8. As I said in another thread, a huge portion of the Republican Party has become so blinded by outrage that they don't even know who the enemy is anymore. We're fighting a disease, but they see just about any mitigation strategy as an attack on their freedom.
  9. No point in continuing. This far into the game, if you truly believe that a person, of whatever age, is no better protected by taking the vaccine, and is actually more at risk due to the vaccine itself, then no amount of information is going to change your mind. Just say it - you're going to believe vaccines are useless no matter what you hear. It's laughable that you accuse others of being dense and incapable of logic when you won't even address the data put in front of you.
  10. And the mortality rate of the Astrazeneca vaccine is an even tinier fraction. What do you have to say about the number of unvaccinated people that have died, and are still dying? Are you saying they should not have gotten the vaccine, anyway?
  11. Are you saying she had zero chance to die if she had contracted Covid?
  12. Curious as to your purpose for posting this? Everyone knows there are potential clotting issues with the Astrazeneca vaccine. However, it is also not used nearly as much as the Pfizer, Moderna, and even the J&J vaccines, at least in the States. Good thing you can choose to use another, right? Oh, and the Astrazeneca vaccine is still safer than getting Covid. But I'm sure you knew that.
  13. Efficacy does drop over time. There is no evidence that the vaccine becomes useless in six months, and it is irresponsible for you to suggest otherwise. Can you explain how you would choose to battle the pandemic?
  14. Would you please stop with this. Yes, vaccinated people can carry a high viral load, but only if they have a breakthrough case. The likelihood of developing the infection is obviously higher for people that are unvaccinated, so they are far more likely to infect others.
  15. Well, when you say "Some of us in this world have been to places you wouldn't dare tread," forgive me if it appears you're belittling those that don't share your "perspective."
  16. But we're not talking about if the plan had been executed differently. We're talking about how things are. How nice of you to cast aspersions on my character without even knowing me. I appreciate your service. Not so much the attitude.
  17. You would have the same sentiment if someone you loved were one of the people still stuck there, right?
  18. So he recommended to the crowd that they take the vaccine, and a fair number of people booed. I'm hoping he can change minds. The scariest thing that can happen is for the world view of some of those people to no longer depend on their icon and become self-sustaining.
  19. Bird, I just can't understand your thinking on this. Surely you see that not wearing masks increases spread? Which in turn means more will die? Our freedoms are not absolute. You cannot do something that you know may harm another, simply because that is what you want to do. Why is this situation different?
  20. Wouldn't have a problem with that if they weren't taking others with them.
  21. Happy Birthday, aubiesixtysix! And congratulations.
