wonder if this kid is good enough to play some b-ball too. Doubt it happens but it’d be neat to see AU have a major two sport athlete -

You’re right. I just think it’s a different balance in b-ball than football so it’s not worth comparing. It’s just a totally different strategy when players can leave after one year instead of 3. Bruce is building a talented but stable roster is what I’m getting at. AU can’t (right now) recycle one and done players like Duke and UK. But AU can develop top 50-100 players into guys that consistently compete for titles. All I’m saying is don’t think AU has to constantly have top 10 classes to be a top 10 program just because player development and roster fluctuation is different in b-ball -

Trying to translate b-ball recruiting rankings to success on the court is way different than football imo just because there’s just a way smaller amount of data and players. Every year football teams sign 20+ players. It varies so much for b-ball year to year bc the roster size is so much smaller so there’s less data to make correlation s. I wouldn’t get too caught up in team rankings. AU signed a damn good class this cycle and I expect AU to be set up to be a top 15 program for as long as Bruce is there -

Isaac Okoro won a gold medal for team USA playing with a lot of those guys. To me, he’s a 5 star talent but I get your point -

pretty sure he told AU there was no chance he was going there very early in the process, so Bruce and co didn't even waste their time with him. I think Bruce and co have most of their connections in the atlanta/georgia area anyway. Besides Austin, who was a legacy, Danjel is the only top 100 recruit that Bruce has pulled from the state of alabama during his tenure so far. Hopefully that trend kind of breaks this next cycle though because I know Bruce is targeting a top 50 shooting guard in the state. -

Right now AU has 11 guys on scholarship. Ten playing and Jamaal Johnson sitting out because of the transfer. Horace, Bryce, and Dunbar are all seniors this year so they'll be gone. That leaves AU with 8. Add 5 recruits and that's the maximum of 13. Gotta think they're will be some attrition one way or another with at least one player transferring or going pro (college basketball programs average 3 transfers per team or something each year). So Au will definitely have the numbers to add one more guy even if it's just Wiley going pro. -

Not impressed with Kansas at all today. They’ll probably dominate the second half though and make me eat my words -

Hopefully Washington can pull off a win against a top 15 VaTech squad. Wouldn’t mind seeing the Zags lose again too -

he most definitely is. Always knew he was an elite athlete, but I've been inpressed with his 3pt shot. He's a way better shooter than Petty, who was a five star the year before who was apparently known for his shot from distance. Lewis is a baller. Hope he gets hype and leaves after the season. -

Bama always shoots for the moon with b-ball coaches and then they get turned down. They thought they were getting Tom Izzo and then they hired Grant. They thought they were getting Greg Marshall and then they got Avery. I know they’ll throw cash at someone but I think they’ll wind up disappointed again. No way they hire Pitino -

All three of those guys I mentioned were 5 star players and more highly ranked than anyone on AU’s squad. Let’s not pretend that Cal’s 2017 class was full of scrubs -

I think the Xavier and Arizona wins will look a lot better at the end of the season than they currently do. Or at least I hope they do -

that's really not supposed to be the case this year since they kind of surprising returned a lot of players. That's usually Cal's excuse for all of his slow starts is that he's working with a bunch of inexperienced freshmen. But that's not the case this year really. It's just that guys like PJ washington, Quade Green, and Nick Richards all haven't gotten any better in their sophomore year -

watched kentucky a decent amount so far this season and they may be the most uninspiring top 10 squad i've seen. Think only Keldon Johnson would be the only player on their squad that'd start for Auburn. Can't wait to absolutley murder them in the Clam -

The perception among kids that AU is a place that can get you to the nba. We haven’t put a player in the nba since Marquis Daniels I believe. We gotta change that -

I think he’s just sort of being honest about the perception of AU from a kid’s standpoint is right now. AU is not traditionally either a winner or a place that produces NBA players. And Bruce himself doesn’t have a big history of producing nba studs (Tobias Harris is probably his best one). i think he’s incrementally working to change that, but he’s just saying AU is gonna have a hard time pulling in top 20 players until some things change.
