  1. The paper journos are going out of business, they just don't know it yet.
  2. If Saban had done this, half the group would have asked to have it autographed.
  3. I was listening when they first brought it up. They were both laughing and asking "What does that even mean?". Then they just started cramming it in. They thought it was much funnier than it actually was. It got old fast. Much like Jay G Tate constantly saying "Word" and imitating Gus. Becomes irritating.
  4. They thought the description someone used to describe Hudson was ridiculous and they brought it all the time as a joke. The joke did get old.
  5. Not to belabor the point, but the entire write up about the depth chart is speculation. It could be completely wrong after the media session is over. He is just guessing about Hudson's status too. Finally, not to go too far defending someone, but writers don't write the headline, editors do. All of this is based on a short media window where players are doing base drills. Bring on the first game!
  6. We have crossed the Rubicon with pre-season practice. First we are all jonesing for any information and after a couple days, the news becomes dry and repetitive. The writers have no real info, so they just speculate based on what little they hear. Other than the scrimmages, we are going to get next to nothing until the first game. At that point we can move to our respective camps of sunshine pumpers and malcontent complainers. 🙂 War Eagle!
  7. I have not heard anything about him this summer. Anyone heard anything? I have high hopes for this kid.
  8. There was an oline thread here earlier this summer which showed numerous and critical missed assignments. It wasn't that the players could not do the job, they did not even know their job. If we can fix this along with better S&C, the oline might be OK this year. Here is a link to thread I referenced.
  9. I am hoping we get enough quality play out of the Jackson, Troxell, Zierer and Coffey to fill both OT positions. Then we can have Hamm and Council play guard. Having those 2 on interior could really anchor a strong running game with Tank. Obviously, that is best case scenario.
  10. How long until the Universities award contracts (building, catering, exclusive advertising, etc.) to those companies who are signing players to NIL contracts? David Shaw has no idea what he is talking about. These deals could potentially be worth a ton to these companies. YellaWood is household brand name due to SEC coach endorsements. Player endorsements will do the same. Besides these boosters have been paying players for years, now they can benefit publicly from these relationships.
  11. Will we get an updated roster showing height and weights? I am interested in seeing the impact of our new S&C Coach on the team; the linemen in particular.
  12. I don't know how good Auburn will be this season and certainly have no idea how good UCF will be, but if UCF was to beat Auburn, I am 100% confident Big Cat would not be the reason.
  13. I doubt the conference last 2 years. Most of the other schools have to be scrambling for another destination. Big 10 and Pac 12 know they need to expand so they will consume some. The others will essentially move down a level. When a majority are leaving it is easy to get the votes needed to decrease the penalties.
  14. I don't believe this for a minute. The Big 10 and ACC are still viable conferences, the Big 12 has always struggled. The Big 12 offered UT and OU more money than the other schools to stay. That is not a conference. The schools listed in this article are big dogs in their conferences and have no reason to join the SEC. Also, a conference with those teams would be impossible to manage. It is already going to be interesting to watch TX and spuat fight for influence, imagine adding OSU and UM to that mix. I think this is speculation designed to get clicks.
  15. I have decided to pass on the vaccine. Why take an experimental, untested vaccine for a virus that has a 98% survival rate. I am not in a high risk group so I will take my chances.
  16. This is exactly what I expected to happen. NIL is just a way to pay players over the table. Recruits will be pitched NIL deals as part of the recruitment. I am sure it will be a tiered approach: Signing gets you $1000 a month + a car, Starting bumps you to $5000 a month, All-SEC .... Which athletic department starts awarding vendor contracts and advertising deals to those companies which sigh their players to NIL deals? Joe Blow Ford will be the official car of the University of Tenn and just so happens to sign 10 players to NIL contracts. You can see where this goes.
  17. Test for immunity instead of counting shots.
  18. I do remember the UNC coach doing that. It was the 1987 game and the score was still close. AU only won by 10. The coach was Dick Crum. Here is the post game show. Coach Dye is fired up because he wanted to beat UNC from his East Carolina days.
  19. That is the truth. If you watch the Sugar Bowl against FSU, their WRs definitely get the alligator arms as the game goes on.
  20. I honestly thought there was a chance he killed Cobb when he hit him. Cobb did not move for a little bit after the hit. Carlo could bring the wood.
