  1. Agreed. If I’m not mistaken, it’s AU’s first SEC tourney win since 19. Somehow, MSU beat TN and now we get them. I’ll give MSU credit, they split with us home and home and play a smothering D, which always affects AU. Plus, I think they just punched their ticket to the Dance with their two wins. I’m less concerned about our Big tourney seed than I am, seeing if we can put another good run together. We played very good on a neutral site, which is the whole tourney. Would be great to get to SEC championship game, but I’m very impressed with this win today.
  2. Exactly. If they are going to get paid to play the sport, there should be contracts to honor and other intricacies. It’s semi-pro now, so treat them as such and do away with all the back and forth transfer crap. Make this reality across the board and it might at least stop kids from bolting after one year, especially the superstars. It’s just no fun anymore. The pomp and circumstance of rivalries is fading and the loyalties have been gone. The sport is now what it wanted, a professional football league for college kids.
  3. Beyond well deserved. One of the best ever at AU.
  4. I saw that. It’s just becoming a crap shoot with players committing, decommitting, playing money games, etc. The college game is ruined and I care very little about it anymore, which is sad, because I’ve been loving it for 45 years. It’s a shame.
  5. Prayers and a speedy recovery.
  6. Agree. The NIL, has to be gotten under control. My thoughts on CFA are waning quickly. It’s now a semi pro business that pays more than minor league baseball and basketball. The game is ruined, until they cap it, like the NFL has been. There’s no salary cap in baseball or basketball, unless you want to pay the BB luxury tax. The thrill of the game is dying in my eyes, because although it’s always been a business for schools, now loyalty is out the window and you can transfer at almost any time you want to. It’s sad and reality pathetic to an extent. I have found myself watching less and less games the last two years. Maybe it’s because I grew up watching the real CFA during the latter 70’s and 80’s. Just not as much fun anymore.
  7. The state of college ball now. No longer fun or any loyalties to a program.
  8. May be good that he is out of eligibility after this year. It’s become obvious, Holloway was a swing and a miss at a big time 5 star. Kind of why I think the Star system is crap, but real scouting should be true. Hope the kid sticks around and keeps learning the game. Not saying he can’t be extremely good, but just wasn’t ready this season.
  9. I’m not sold on a win in Athens, especially if Jaylin is done for the year.
  10. He will probably transfer. Donaldson is far ahead of him in most facets of the game.
  11. Exactly, the NBA seems to give four steps versus the allowed 2. Sports at the college and pro levels is no longer as fun to watch. I grew up watching the NFL in the 70’s. Tom Brady would have lasted maybe 4 seasons in that era. I’ve been following AU football since the late 70’s as well, but I honestly find myself much less entertained by college ball anymore, after all of the changes.
  12. I understand. This is a good AU team, but extremely inconsistent. Hope we can just get to the semis in the SEC tourney and hope for a 5 or 6 seed in the tourney. BP has done the greatest turnaround for AU mens BB, but ever since the final four team, we’ve been good, but not great, which translates into fun and excitement for us fans, but to me, it seems we are slipping further away from a potential Championship since then. It’s just my take. I love AU.
  13. Not sure how you figured that, but like they said on game day, 20 years ago, AU wasn’t thought of as a destination for them. Now, four years in a row, game day has come to AU which is great obviously, but let’s be honest, AU in most sports has always had trouble backing up hype, which is exactly what game day is. I hope the second half is a huge turnaround, but scoring only 29 and with our very inconsistent 3 point shooting, against a good team, may just be too much to overcome finally.
  14. Bad omen having game day show up and brag. Home streak will end tonight. Has to eventually.
