  1. I've said this on here for a couple years but look at our hires back to Shug. Shug) wasn't a big name when hired Barfield) was Shug's OC Dye) HC at East Carolina and Wyoming Bowden) HC at Samford Tuberville) barely a .500 HC at Ole Miss Chizik) 5-19 and fresh off 10 straight losses at Iowa State Gus) HC for 1 year at Arkansas St. Harsin) HC at Arkansas St. and Boise St. Freeze) HC at Lambuth, Arkansas St., Ole Miss and Liberty We've never swung big for a HC and I'd argue we never will. They always spin a so-so hire by saying he's their first choice and the best fit. It is what it is at this point.
  2. Before this game, the Bammers were all saying that we wouldn't even get 10 points on their defense because we only got 10 against NMSU last week. Most of them I heard or talked to was saying they would win 45-7 or thereabouts. Now all I've read from them is they're much happier to beat us this way rather than a blowout because it hurts us more. Many are saying it could've been a blowout but Milroe and a few more were taking it easy so they wouldnt get hurt and miss the Georgia game next week. And lastly, this one I've heard for years and years, that they get every teams best shot every week because they're every other teams Super Bowl and they only care about Auburn 1 week a year but Auburn's entire world revolves around the Iron Bowl. They say that nobody at Auburn cares about winning titles and beating alot of teams, we only focus on Alabama 365 days a year and that's why we usually make it a close game. Bammers are all in my family and have always been all around me since birth. They truly believe the crap they spew. The idiots even think that the SEC wanted them to lose and for us to win. How the crap does that make sense? How is an Auburn win over Bama good for the conference that's trying to get Bama and UGA into the playoffs? Freaking inbreds I swear!!!! Now I've done gotten pissed off again thinking about them. 😂 I HATE losing to them!!!!
  3. I agree. I remember when we signed Thorne, I immediately went to the MSU boards to see what they thought and it was like you said. They said when he had NFL RB and WR, he got them to 11-2. Those went pro and he had Keon Coleman and PT also had some injuries and they went 5-7. They all said he was a game manager but was a kinda high IQ guy because his grandfather was a great HS coach and his Dad is a college HC. We need better for next year no doubt. Thorne would be an excellent #2 QB just off his experience alone. If we get a portal QB, I think Thorne will bolt like he did at MSU when Tucker didn't promise him the QB1 job. He'll be a grad transfer probably.
  4. Stoops was asked postgame about the A&M job and said he is 100% staying at Kentucky and he said he's a Wildcat. From what everybody was reporting, it was pretty much a done deal but then the A&M fans revolted similar to how Tennessee stopped the Schiano hire or we stopped the Kevin Steele hire in 2020. I just wonder if Stoops for sure accepted the job but later backed out once he saw how the fans revolted? Or it could've been mutual between A&M and Stoops. He fits Kentucky alot better and those fans love him there. I just wonder where A&M turns now?
  5. Its wild that he makes that much but those fans up there really have his back. Mark Stoops seems like a pretty likeable guy. The best way I can put it is that Mark Stoops is the perfect fit for where he's at. He and Kentucky seem happy with one another and he could stay there until he retires. However, when you're a big money program like A&M and you're about to compete, again, with Texas and Oklahoma in the same conference, you should go way bigger than Mark Stoops. You don't fire a guy who has a national title and pay him $76 million to walk just to replace him with Stoops. A&M has a chance to get this right and bring the fanbase together and another big recruiting class but announcing Mark Stoops as your new hire could kill all that quick. Jimbo was a Mercedes at one point. The Mercedes got too many miles on it so you sold it. You don't replace it with a 2017 Ford F-150.
  6. I would be pissed if my school went 7-5 (before their bowl game) and gave Jimbo $76 million to walk, just to hire Mark Stoops who is 7-5 this year and elated to even be 7-5. His name was mentioned for LSU before they hired Brian Kelly and those LSU fans all got pissed. He has done pretty good at Kentucky and has been there forever it seems like. But during his Kentucky tenure Tennessee has been a hot mess, South Carolina, Florida, Missouri and Vanderbilt have all been pretty dang bad with 1 or 2 good seasons spread amongst them. He has also had more backing than any Kentucky football coach in decades. I just think Texas A&M could do alot better. When you spend $76 million for your coach to walk, you better make a splash hire and A&M has the means to do just that.

Because the head coach is named Hugh Freeze. But hey, he beat Saban twice back when Moby Dick was still a minnow.
  8. This stat doesn't pertain to tonight's game but for last weeks loss to NMSU; the SEC Network said that in Hugh Freeze's 11 years as an FBS head coach (Arky St., Ole Miss, Liberty, Auburn) he has lost 19 games where he was a 10+ point favorite. That's damn near 2 games EVERY year!!!!!!!! How can people say "but he will change here at Auburn when he gets his players here." Well, he had his talented players at Ole Miss and did the same stuff. The guy has no happy medium. His teams are either playing WAAAAY too above their heads or WAAAAAY too below. It's not going to change in my opinion.
  9. Welcome to Freezeville. Where every game is a rollercoaster ride!!! Beat Arkansas by 38 as an underdog, lose at home to NMSU by 3 TD's when we are a 25 point favorite and then have the Iron Bowl in hand to s*** the bed like only we seem to do. All that in a 14 day span. Welcome to the wildest up and down ride this program will EVER see and its gonna be this way as long as he is here. Every year of his career has been this way. The guy's teams are way too up and down but so is his personal life and you know what they say, teams take on the character of their head coach. Be sure you take off your orange and blue glasses when you go to sleep tonight.
  10. He's not coming back next year. The pregame alluded to it.
  11. If not for Ron Roberts defense, we probably would've went 3-9 this season. Yeah, the ending sucks but his defense did ALOT more to help us this year than the Montgomery/Freeze offense did. This program is kinda stuck around mid pack the past few years. With the incoming talent upgrades, I hope it gets us to being a consistent threat both nationally and in conference. I've always said, I don't expect us to be Alabama or Georgia. Alabama has been on the greatest run in college history and Georgia seems very well on their way to duplicating what Bama has accomplished. I just ask that we get to where LSU has been for the past 23 years. They're usually a top 10 or 15 team that averages about 10 wins a season since 2000. I would love to get to that level. Hoping we can in time.
  12. He's definately a good coach. He seems to do his own thing though, so maybe he stays at Liberty. What I mean by that is Tennessee supposedly went after him hard when Pruitt was fired. Chadwell wouldn't even interview with them. He stayed at Coastal Carolina. Same goes for Virginia Tech as well. He wouldn't talk to them. His name was really hot in the coaching circles and people seemed to think he was waiting on a really big opportunity that he could win immediately. Then the job he leaves Coastal for is Liberty. He seems content just doing his thing at small schools and if that's the case, I can respect that.
  13. Who is rumored to get that Mississippi State job?
  14. Saban won't allow his team to overlook us. He will point to the Georgia and Ole Miss score in Jordan Hare this year. Saban knows he has to win and do it in style to pave a way for his team to get into the CFP. Plus, that Alabama offense has scored 34 versus Tennessee, 42 versus LSU, 49 versus Kentucky and 66 versus Chattanooga the past 4 games. I know people will say that LSU and Chattanooga have bad offenses but the point is, Alabama is peaking and seem to have their early season issues fixed. Of course, they've actually got a good coach that knows how to fix problems when he spots them.
  15. Hopefully we can pull this off saturday and get the win because if we lose, it will be 4 straight losses to Alabama and that hasn't happened since Bear Bryant beat Shug, Barfield and Dye for 9 straight years from 1973-1981. We've been ending streaks this year but in a bad way. WDE
  16. These jokes were before Saban came to Alabama but: Q) How are Bama fans and maggots alike? A) They both can live off a dead bear for decades. Q) How many Bama fans does it take to screw in a lightbulb? A) 15....One to screw it in and 14 to tell him how much better the Bear would've done it. Q) Who has the fastest 100 meter time ever? A) An Alabama player.......when he had a TV under each arm.
  17. With as bipolar as our HC's career has been as a huge favorite and as a huge underdog, I wouldn't be shocked if he has his team ready and they come out and beat Bama and I won't be shocked if he has them flat and they play uninspired ball for 60 minutes like they did saturday. Nick Saban knows he has to win and win big for style points in hope's of getting into the CFP. So in this game I'll take the coach that isn't up and down like a yo-yo from week to week and say: Alabama - 45 Auburn - 17
  18. NMSU was 0-24 against the SEC all-time. They were 0-27 against Power 5 opponents all-time. Until Saturday. NMSU is 2-0 against Hugh Freeze. In those 2 wins they outscored Freeze's team 80-24. Hugh has laid eggs in games when he's a big favorite his entire coaching career. It would also be like him to beat Alabama this weekend. His coaching career is as up and down as his personal life has been.
  19. I agree, I'm grumpy. What's crazy is I told family right at kickoff that I don't feel good about this game for some reason. But last night and today I've read some stats others have put up about Hugh's past as a HC and damn, it's always been like this. Always!!! Major highs (for Ole Miss) but really low low's. It's at multiple programs as well and its definately a head scratcher. He always says for the team to not overlook these lesser opponents but if you look at his career, it's as if he's actually telling himself not to overlook lesser opponents. The guy loses some stinkers. The other coaches had to be fired, I agree. But judging off the past and that's all we can do, Hugh isn't an upgrade. Not what I thought anyway. How is Hugh the best we could do if everybody was "aligned more than ever?"
  20. According to Hugh he has put his foot down with the offensive staff and said that its gonna be done his way and thats when we started winning. But when we lose gimme games by 3 TD'S it's because he can't focus on the task due to recruiting. He can win in Arkansas but can't win at home as a 25 point favorite. If he has thrown this season away and said it's a loss and focus on recruiting, why does he look like he's aged 30 years in yesterday's postgame presser and seem pissed off and short with reporters? If he just wrote the season off, it seems he wouldn't care about a loss this much. I agree about the 3 coaches thing in a way. I believe AUwent made a comment yesterday saying Auburn just might not ever get any higher as a whole than what Gus accomplished in his 8 years. I don't want to believe that but history of this program says he has a point. The highs this program has had over the past couple decades, Gus was on staff either as an OC or HC. He also had Cam win a Heisman, Tre Mason made it to NYC as a Heisman Finalist, Nick Marshall finished 7th in Heisman and his one year as Arkansas OC, Darren McFadden finished 2nd for the Heisman and its Arkansas's only SEC West title. He has struggled this year but his trophy case is pretty nice while Hugh Freeze's trophy room is a broom closet.
  21. Sorry, you're lazy and hate to read. Oh, so the excuses of "he only lost his last 4 games last year because he was focused on this Auburn job" are being changed to hurt QB's now? Kiffin was flirting with Auburn and also lost his last 4 games last year but it was because "he's a loser and was only good because talent at Alabama." Some folks will spin and spin to keep from admitting the obvious.
  22. A bare cupboard at Auburn has more talent than NMSU and damn sure enough talent to play better than a 3 TD loss. What's the worst class Auburn has had the last 10 years in recruiting? I haven't looked but I would bet our worst class the past 10 years is better than Kiffin's best class at Ole Miss. So don't give me "bare cupboard" BS. Gus's last class was #7 nationally. Hell, he recruited inside the top 10 damn near every year and Steele was killing it recruiting the defense. Talent didn't lose yesterday. Talent didn't sleepwalk 14-10 against a bad Cal team. Hugh won't have bigger wins than previous coaches. He will damn sure have worst losses though.
  23. If my aunt had balls she would be a Bama fan.
