Serious question. We know that either right now, very soon, or within the next 9-10 months we will be looking for a new HC. Is there anyone associated with AU athletics who is capable of conducting a professional quality search and hire? ADAG going out on his own didn’t work. The pseudo-committee approach didn’t work. The let the PTB have their guy approach didn’t work. This cycle will continue until we get blind squirrel lucky (see AU basketball), or we have a total house cleaning in the AD, including board members and unofficial guys with money who are the real PTB.

Respectfully disagree. We don’t have a QB that is likely to be highly successful in 2022. With a mediocre QB, mediocre (at best) WRs, and a mediocre OL, those poor RBs and TEs can’t do much to produce a solid offense on their own. On D, we just lost quite a bit of our depth on the line. What was exciting a month or two ago, is now iffy. We’ve got Owen and then a few guys with potential at LB. We’ve got bodies in the secondary, but again some of those guys with potential will have to step up! As of right now, we have less talent and depth across the board than we’ve had in a very long time!!!

Exactly! (although I’d rather have Campbell and Taylor 100X out of 100). I don’t see anything from our current 2022 roster that gets me excited about the upcoming season. And with all the off-season drama, I have close to zero hope we’ll be able to upgrade with spring transfers.

Exactly! If you owe me 18 mil, and you are legally obligated to give me my 18mil, why would I settle for anything less than 18 mil.? However, if people at AU are convinced the affair happened, and they have just cause, they’re not going to be willing to pay 18mil, until they’ve fully investigated the situation. Option A. They find just cause and fire him. He walks away with $0, a broken marriage, and we start from ground zero in February with another coach. Option B. They can’t find just cause and pay him $18 mil to go away. AU would be paying various coaches somewhere around $40mil just to not coach at AU!🤦‍♂️ Option C. They can’t find just cause. The donors who are already paying millions to other coaches to not coach at AU say we can’t afford another $18mil. And Harsin is the lamest duck in coaching history in 2022, and we will reap all of the negative impact of this scenario!!! This is a lose, lose, lose situation. Can someone please come up with an option D!?!?!

There are plenty of red flags around Harsin, but I don’t give this any merit. Every fan base does this every time a coach leaves to go somewhere else. Right now in Norman there are some people saying “good riddance” to Lincoln Riley, and same in Eugene with Mario. If little nicky left west vance, there would be toothless rednecks come out of the woods and talk about how he had lost his edge and needed to go, blah, blah, blah. It just happens. We humans by nature are both stupid and prideful.

This nightmare scenario will cost AU far more than 18mil. We have managed to take our struggling program and set it on fire, throw it in a dumpster, and throw that dumpster into an oozing sea of highly flammable toxic waste. That is the suckiest bull crap game I’ve ever seen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!😡😡😡 They scored 18 more points than us from the line. Partly because we sucked at the line, the fouls at the end, and also they got some very generous extra trips!!!😡😡😡 The possession arrow at the end should have been ours unless there was a phantom change of possession I was totally unaware of. With no Zep and KD being MIA most of the game(maybe the finger is still giving him a lot of problems), we had to do some really creative stuff with our guard play! Kessler didn’t foul out, the refs just needed to level the playing field with a couple of bull crap calls!!! I hope to heck we play this bacon team in the SEC tournament!!!! We’ll smoke them piggies by 20+!!!

I would like for Freeze, Briles, Grimes, and Rhule to get an interview. Mark Stoops is also worth a discussion Others have mentioned Kiffin. He recruits well. He could maximize the NIL opportunities AU would offer, and he knows a thing or two about offense. He would definitely need to ease up on his commitment to the analytics. Deion is a marketing genius and an absolute BOSS in recruiting. If he is coupled with a great OC and DC, and let them do their thing, that could be a very good situation. My concern would be what if those coordinators aren’t very good. (see Tubs 2003 and 2008, or Gus 2013-14, etc.) Fickell is a good coach, but after this fiasco with “a yankee outsider”, the PTB is going to be looking for Pat Dye Jr, Bo Jackson, or at least someone with the last name Davis (or maybe not after Austin’s twelve seconds on staff🤷‍♂️) I know it’s going to happen, but I’m still going to throw up on my phone when Kevin Steele, Rhett Lashlee, and Will Muschamp are all in the final 4.🤦‍♂️ Hopefully we hire that 4th guy.

I’m sure articles were written about those schools too. We just didn’t care. Same with Auburn. We see/read/hear about those articles because we care. Everyone else will either be unaware, or chuckle, shake their head, and then forget about it in less than a week.

Not far off from what uga did with us. UK couldn’t miss a shot in that game. There’s no way they shoot like that again, so I do expect it to be much closer. Not ready to call a UT win, though.

That is definitely a concern!!! Because we affect so many shots, we force a lot of misses, but because we’re so active affecting shots, we’re often not in a good position to get the rebound. And our guards take lots of ill-advised shots. Kessler and Cambridge have saved the day with some huge offensive boards. If this goes in favor of the hogs on both sides, we may be in trouble. I like your counter as well. Any shot Jabari takes is a good shot selection. 😁 If he gets 20+ and Kessler does his thing in the paint, I like our chances. I would love to see Wendell have more assists than points, and KD actually pass the ball a few times.

These are the 4 games, including tomorrow @ Arky, that I saw as our toughest remaining games. I’m gonna say we split those four and finish the league 16-2 which is ridiculously good!!!! UK will drop at least one more so we won’t even need the tiebreaker!

That’s a good list. I really like Rhule!!! That would be amazing!!! Freeze is a better version of Gus, I’d take it. I like Grimes. He has done really well everywhere he’s been. HC in the SECW would be a serious step up.

Pearl said Berman was also out in his post game. I haven’t heard why.

I can see this game going a couple of different ways: Arky is hot! We’ve played terrible our last couple of road games. Their Jaylin Williams is a much better big man than anyone we’ve played since Oscar from UK. And I’m not sure how healthy Zep will be. On the other hand, we’ve played up or down to our opponents and we’ll need a very good game to beat Arky at their place, so maybe we’ll show up and show out! And we’ve responded well after lackluster performances so far. This one makes me nervous. What do y’all think?

Absolutely!!!! The sun will shine on the loveliest village on the plains again! However, I am afraid it’s going to take a minimum of 3-5 years. Our dumpster fire of a situation combined with our schedule, recruiting foes, etc. means we’ve got a very steep hill to climb! It will happen, but it will take time. And I’m 99% sure CBH won’t be here to see it happen. He just has an extremely short leash.
