  1. Same, I was surprised by how many people were just assuming our defense was gonna get run over. I'll admit I thought the offense was going to be much better!
  2. Win is a win. Gutty performance. Got some offensive stuff to work through. Defense was tough and did what it needed to do! 2-0!
  3. If a bunch of 18-24 year olds can play one game that starts are 7:30 PST then we have bigger problems than our Run D or talent level. When I was that age in the Army I could stay up drinking and playing video games all night and be ready to go for PT the next day and have a full day of work. I pretty much lived on 3-4 hours of sleep a night for like 12 years straight before it caught up to me. I know everybody is different but if one game impacts us to that extent I'm gonna have some questions.
  4. Maybe. We gave up 140 running yards against UMass and many here were predicting a much closer game due to the exact same reasons. 101 came from their RB but 70+ of that was from like 4 runs. We also went about as vanilla on both sides of the ball as we could. Outside of a few gimmicky QB runs I didn't think it was a huge concern or an unexpected result. Once we started spying him starting that 2nd drive it wasn't as big of a concern. We also didn't open up the offense with Payton at all. We pretty much just went to Robby in the RZ and let him easily score against UMass. We didn't at any point grind them down and in a meaningful intentional way to force a lot of their starters out. Freeze Called the dogs off the begin the 2nd half. I just don't think we can judge anything based off of last week. 3/4 sacks came from LB/line play. One on a safety blitz. We also in my opinion did a great job stopping the run with our front. There were a few holes their RB exploited, but imo some of the breakaways they got were from SOFT tackling and the lack of physicality some of our boys were displaying at times. Several of those plays we were in position to make the tackle and just didn't. I don't know if that will be a long term issue or if they resolved this week. Easy fix. Either way, we'll find out more about us during the game than we did against UMass.
  5. Ughh.. If they score 20 on us our defense is in trouble lol.
  6. I think we'll try a few things out. Get some 3rd string playing time. 45-10
  7. Wow... What a letdown. Never trust CBs.
  8. Amazing! I love the excitement around this place these days!
  9. So taking us from arguably one of the worst NCAA basketball programs to the winningest SEC program in the last 5 years isn't good? What about the Final Four? What about the #1 ranking? What about the multiple NCAA tournaments? I get it, its frustrating during the offseason. Players coming and going. I trust Bruce. I like the team he is building. We improved the backcourt. We're solid and improved on the wing. We improved 3 point shooting and scoring overall. If Broome comes back its on. At worst we should be quite a bit better than last season and last season was an NCAA tournament year with a win in said tournament.
  10. Clutch win! Much needed! I think that locks us into the NCAA Tourney. Hopefully we can move up a few seed lines during the SEC Tourney.
  11. Who said anything about all of our woes? That ALONG with recruiting makes a huge difference. Look around college football. You can argue semantics all you want to, but my point remains and it is valid. If you wanna win or improve there is a "new" path to it. It is an option that has helped several teams improve in a season or two since its inception in its new form. You either adapt or you don't. We're not landing the 5 stars people crave so much in the key positions on the OL/DL/etc... How do you combat that? Experience. The same goes for anything. Even if we did land a few five stars it would still take a little time for MOST of them to adjust and get meaningful time. If you are starting an inexperienced 18 year old on the line in the SEC regardless of recruiting ranking you're in trouble most times than not. It will take a couple of seasons for the right coach to turn this around. The portal will assist in that. I think its hilarious people want to hire Deion Sanders who has only ever won at Jackson State. Has never coached at the D1-A level let alone the SEC. Has never beaten anyone of note. Yet, bash Rhule who has won at Temple and Baylor. Brought them both out of the gutter at that.
  12. You're 100% correct lol. I forgot he said he simply didn't wanna do it anymore lol. He went 9-7 in year one.
  13. Rhule has proven at Temple and Baylor he has the patience and know how. Out of the three that were listed to the post I responded too I am all Rhule.
  14. Out of that list for me it is Rhule all day. He won at the top G5 level. He won at the Big 12 level. He took over two dumpster fires and had them rolling. He might not have made it in the NFL, not many college coaches do. Sure he just got fired. FROM THE NFL. Saban was FIRED from the NFL. Kiffin was FIRED from the NFL. So have numerous other college coaches who made the jump. Auburn alone will land you a top 15-20 class. Any coach worth his weight can pull in a few studs to balance it out to the top 7-10. It's not hard here. Rhule with his college history and NFL pedigree; not just as a head coach, but he was an offensive line coach for the Giants as well could recruit successfully here. Now with the transfer portal the way it is, you can literally change your team in an offseason. Need linemen? Go get them. Need a QB find the type you like and go get them there are usually a ton in the portal. For me I would have a friend of a friend of a friend on the phone with one of Seth Hennigan's (Memphis) friends yesterday. No way he stays at Memphis for his Junior season. Need other positions? Depth maybe? Go get them. In my opinion when it comes to this, Rhule is the guy who will have the patience, and know how to get this done and would likely be happy making Auburn his home until he retires if he is good enough. Kiffin is probably gone to Nebraska unless he really loves Ole Miss and Deion will jump to Florida State the moment they call him.
  15. I would also consider Matt Rhule big time. He did great for Temple and anyone judging him while he was at Baylor is a fool. The ONLY season that matters there is 2019. He lost twice to Oklahoma in close games and to Georgia in the Sugar Bowl. That's not too shabby and based on the trajectory he would have definitely beaten ranked teams moving forward. He can coach. He can recruit. He has won everywhere he has been. You judge a coach on year 3. Year 1 never counts unless there are issues like we apparently had last season. Year two you want to see improvement which we aren't having. Matt Rhule: Temple was horrible before he got there. Year 1: 2-10 Year 2: 6-6 Year 3: 10-3 Year 4: 10-3 Baylor was a train wreck when he took that job as well. Year 1: 1-11 Year 2: 7-6 Years 3: 11-3
  16. I just wanna put more than 1 QTR together a game at this point.
  17. I think so too lol. NIL, this is what college sports are now. LSU outbid Tennessee the first go around. Tennessee outbid us and the GLeague this time.
  18. Crap, well good season overall, but a disappointing end to it. Thanks for everything this season! Hoping for an even better one next year :).
  19. This is amazing. Well earned by him, the staff, and the team.
  20. About time that Called Cousinard for a foul. That guy has been abusing us all day. Only his 2nd lol.
