this was a good interview. That being said he got some facts wrong, he said it was around the South Carolina game the story broke. It was before the Georgia game. He said he had to play the LSU game etc. with this hanging over him. Unless Maybe Chizik heard it was coming and it was kept quiet for 4-5 weeks? Also he indicated he was ineligible for a game and missed a game, I know we declared him ineligible before the Georgia game and I think the NCAA made him eligible immediately due to the fact it was his dad that took the money. I don't think he missed a game though. More curious if I am remembering the events correctly or not?

I don't think this is on the officials at all. They are just saying, this is an obscure rule and if it were to happen the fans are going to lose their minds. I am so glad they didn't have the chance and I am sure they are too.

There was a story in I think Sports Illustrated that quoted Buddy Davidson saying something to the effect "Chris Davis is a good athlete if it is close he can jump up and knock it away." I don't think this rule is well known at all.

I had no idea that jumping and batting a field goal away would be a penalty that led to a safety. I cannot imagine if that would have happened.
