  1. So, I'm a first-year Auburn fan. I arrived this year in the transfer portal from Georgia Tech. I've spent the summer studying and learning about the program. I actually really like Harsin and I think he has a great staff. As a new fan, I fell like I can look at the team from unemotional point of view. First Five Games: (4 - 1) Auburn wins 1 of Penn State, LSU but not both. Offensive personnel just isn't good enough to start 5-0 but all 5 games are winnable. Next 3 Games: (1 -2)I'm not high on Ole Miss and I think that is the one they get. Got a shot at Arkansas too, that could get you to 8 wins. Final 4: (2-2) Wins over MSU and WKU. 7-5 Record with a chance at 8-4 The roster is was it is and probably will be worse in 2023. I don't think you can blame Harsin for the current state of the program. He can carry some blame for the state of the QB depth chart but beyond that I think he deserves time to build the program the right way. Doesn't matter who the coach is this is going to take some time to build the right way.
  2. Quick question. I was just curious what will become of the existing indoor practice facility?
  3. Seems like this NIL group is pretty cookie cutter. Saw some GT players tweeting out the exact same letter as the Plains NIL club:
  4. I don't think Clemson is going to recruit at the same level moving forward. We will see their recruiting drop coming hard and fast. 1) Committing to an ACC program, even Clemson, is like committing to a G5 school. The exposure and competition is going to continue to decline. 2)Also, people forget that Clemson is a relatively small school and does not have a lot of deep-pocketed boosters. They are going to have a hard time staying competitive in this new era.
  5. There aren't many of your kind left. There aren't many rivals (or GT people for that matter) that even know GT football exists. I became a serious fan around 1987, so I didn't ever get the chance to see many GT-AU games. I did see Aundray Bruce earn the 1st overall pick as he dominated a bad GT team in the last game of the series for a while. Then GT caught the right Auburn teams in '03 and '05 with some solid upset performances. So long-story short, I always rooted for Auburn threw the years. I was a sidewalk GT fan and really liked the underdog nature of the program and excellent coaches like Ross, O'Leary and Paul Johnson, but I honestly didn't like most GT fans(especially obnoxious students). Honestly GT fans were the most obnoxious I encountered in my years traveling to games. But obnoxious is much better than the arrogant(UAT, UGA). No doubt that Auburn fans were easily the best and the reason I'm here now. War Eagle!
  6. Thank you for the response. In regards to becoming an Auburn fan at the wrong time, I'm not worried. As you can tell, I was a Georgia Tech fan for the last 35 years so I don't mind a little bit of a struggle. Just want to feel that my team has the chance to be successful if they if they do the right things. It is a little bit of culture shock for me going from the ACC Coastal to the SEC West. I recognize nothing will come easy in this division.
  7. Thanks, yes I don't want to stir up old arguments but I was curious to better understand the challenges that Harsin faced upon arrival. Not a knock on the prior staff, there are obviously different ways to approach running your program. Hopefully Harsin will get the chance to build the program on a firm foundation built for sustained success.
  8. Hello AU Family, I enjoyed listening to both episodes of the HuddleWithHars. Not to derail this thread, but I'm new here and wanted to introduce myself. I'm a brand new Auburn fan and I had a question I wanted to ask about the football program. Since, I can't start a new topic yet I hoped this would be an ok place to ask. First, here's a super brief summary of my story: I've been a Georgia Tech fan since I was 14 years. I became a season-ticket holder on my own at 16 and was a regular season-ticket holder every year until just last season. When I was in my 20s and unmarried, I went to most games home and away. I've always been a super fan. However, over the last 4-5 years the program support has really declined. Going to games was miserable and nobody around us even cared. I came to the conclusion that the GT program was doomed because there just isn't enough fan support to dig it out of the hole its in. I made the decision to look for a new team as crazy at that sounds. I hope GT turns it around but I don't see it happening. I think they are doomed to be just like Vandy and Duke with no fan support. I love college football a lot and still wanted to keep it in my life so I decided I could enter the fan transfer portal. Why not, it's a new era. I've always kind of liked Auburn and felt that Auburn fans were the best in the south. Plus my son is starting at Auburn as a freshman this fall. So, here I am a brand new Auburn fan. Trying to learn more about the program. Listening to HuddleWithHars and other interviews, I've heard a lot of comments about needing to the change the culture. Obviously, all new coaches come in talking about changing the culture, but often a change is needed. My question is what was the culture under Malzahn and what changes needed to be made? As an outsider, it always looked like Auburn played hard under Gus and liked playing for him. What were the issues, what were the culture things that AU thought Harsin could improve?
