  1. For me, it was Coach Pat Dye.

As a sophomore at AU, I (and many others) were awed as Coach Dye came to the Student Union Cafeteria and talked with us while we ate lunch.  He took our questions and gave blunt, honest answers.  Her sat with us, ala Bruce Pearl, and talked to us straight, from the heart.  He made promises, and then went out and delivered.

He (we) beat Bama in his 2nd year, after 10 straight Iron Bowl losses.

I completely respect coach Shug.  No offense to him.  But Dye is my favorite AU head coach.

Did I mention to you guys that I knew his daughter well and coached his grandson in tee-ball?  I did...

Lol, he beat them by himself huh? What were his stats that game?

    15-30, 173 yards, 1 TD, 0 interceptions, 44 yards rushing, QBR 86.2.

Mac Jones actually had a higher QBR (89.8), even though he threw 2 interceptions.

Bo was good, but I think Mac Jones' mistakes were the deciding factor.

  3. Just for some perspective, Yahoo Sports graded Denver's draft a "D" because of the Nix pick at #12.  They don't completely dislike Nix, but they thought #12 was way too high to draft him.  Of course, from Denver's perspective, they cut Russel Wilson loose and had to immediately get a QB somehow.  If this pick turns out bad, no one will remember it all started by investing too much in an aging Russel Wilson, prompting the gamble on Nix to try and erase the Wilson mistake.

Right. So so hated. It's so ironic he will be with stidham.... Even stid couldn't get thru here unscathed..... Any other guy or coach leaves here they are scum.

Other QB leave the official site celebrated the kid having a bad game as if he ever did anything other than give his best at Auburn. Bo leaves it's all poor him and he had to play for Harsin.... Congrats as if he still played at Auburn. When have you ever seen that for another player that transferred? This thread wouldn't even be allowed on this board it would be on the rivals section if it was anybody else. If I didn't know better I would say he was a Manning, that's about the only guy I've seen be more privileged in the game of football.

Entire career it has always been somebody else fault for anything bad and all the praise and glory for anything good.

We will all get to see now though, no more excuses right. Good coach, every opportunity in the world, offensive minded coach. The coach even throws a bunch of wr screens and passes to the HB.....I mean it's perfect.

Yep, notice that the Aden Holloway thread was moved to "Rivals" as soon as he signed with Bama.

  5. I've read a lot of informed opinions on this selection.  As many pan it as like it.

Personally, I think Mac Jones was a better NFL prospect than Bo Nix.  I thought Jones was bound to be a reliable NFL starter, but it hasn't happened - yet.

I appreciate Nix coming to Auburn, but I don't think he will be a reliable NFL starter.  I think Denver made a mistake, like they did by overpaying Russel Wilson.  But they are QB poor and took a shot.

    Just my opinion.

Consuela from Family Guy uses "no" as her catchphrase and has thus turned into a meme.

Bitcoin is good, when treated with caution and following the principle of "never investing more than you can afford to lose".

No one can refute its current value.  Nor its rebound from the SBF debacle.  It is currently thriving.

From a blockchain implementation perspective, it is revolutionary.  Very cool all the way around.  Hope it survives.

Everything I need to know about it right there. This is a crap investment. We need to get away from this now.

The end game in all this is giving Fed Govt Backing to investment junk like BitCoin.

I took a Udemy course on blockchain technology, which is solid computer science and is applicable to much more than cryptocurrency.  It is applicable to any situation in which a distributed ledger is needed, and is safe and secure without the need of a trusted third party for verification (i.e. control).  For example, medical records.

    LOL, what?!

Just being realistic.  CBM is a good player at AU, but at UK?  A dime a dozen ,my friend,  A dime a dozen,  With fewer techs.

Come back at me.  I can take it.  And won't complain.

So crazy that Calipari arrives at Arkansas and has only one returning player on the roster - a walk-on. Every single other player has either graduated, is out of eligibility, declared for the draft, or entered the transfer portal. Every. Single. One.

Also apparently Scott Drew has said no to UK.

Yes, Drew has withdrawn.  Apparently, so have Hurley and Oats.

How many more "no" responses does the UK AD need to hear before he calls Bruce?

Make no mistake: if he calls, I think Bruce would say "yes" before even hearing the contract terms.

The longer this draws out, the closer we come to returning to the SEC cellar.

Someone (before Bruce), please say "yes".

  10. I wonder how many "no" responses the UK AD must get before he calls Bruce.  Hopefully a lot, but even UK publications are calling for Bruce to be seriously considered.

I think Bruce would be crazy to turn it down if offered.  He's definitely a championship coach, but with no championships.  And he could recruit the guards to UK that he hasn't been able to recruit to AU.

I have a bad feeling about this...

Man, I can't remember the last time I saw a battle of the giants like this in college ball. Reminds me of the 90's/early 2000's NBA.

This is beautiful basketball.  These teams are playing well, their games are built around big men, and it's fun to watch.  They have excellent perimeter play as well.

These 2 teams spent over half the year combined being ranked #1.  And they are bringing it so far tonight.
