  1. It sure did. We were supposed to go back to NOLA for a second night, but ended up driving all the way back to AU as soon as the game was over.
  2. Going to University of Vermont to visit my daughter and take in the fall foliage. Monday is a holiday here (until PC gets it, which won’t be much longer.) Going to try to keep an eye on Bama/TAMU game and the baseball playoffs (in spite of the fact the Yankees offseason is already underway - still, like college football, I enjoy MLB enough to follow even when my team is out of it). But for a change, sports won’t the the focus of my fall weekend (much to my wife’s joy). 🙂
  3. I was at the earthquake game with my roommates. That was my freshman year. To the honest, one of the main reasons we went to that game (aside from a 2 night lay-over in NOLA) was that playing LSU was such a unique experience. We all barely remembered Auburn having every played LSU before. It has been a good rivalry game, but we will still play them twice every 4 years, and to get Florida and Tennessee back on our schedule with some regularity, LSU as an annual opponent is a sacrifice I'm willing to make.
  4. lol I just thought that was an awfully important game to fall all the way to the SECN. Then again, these decisions are also made on anticipated ratings, and I would imagine most SEC schools have a lot more followers than Missouri and Kentucky, regardless of the importance of the game.
  5. You guys do realize it’s possible that Kentucky/Missouri could be a match up of the last 2 unbeaten teams in the East. UK would be coming off a win over Georgia and Missouri would be coming off a win over LSU.
  6. Once the new schedule rotation takes effect (should be in ‘25), we will play everyone home/away every 4 years. So we will play LSU again no later than ‘27, then again in ‘28. But to be honest with you, I won’t miss LSU very much. Even after all these years, Florida is still a much bigger rival. It sucks the SEC didn’t put the Gators on our schedule in ‘24.
  7. This is the football equivalent of a first world problem. 😁
  8. Jimmy Buffet’s life would make a great Jimmy Buffet song. RIP.
  9. Good, God, man! Can't you see the anticipation is killing me!
  10. I agree with this well thought out and reasonable plan.
  11. Then I want the guy in pic 2. 😂
  12. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, my fingers are crossed that Lane follows Saban when the time comes. Inexplicably, they love him. I think Lane at Bama is the fastest way to see them deteriorate back to something close to the Shula days.
  13. The difference is that Auburn was not penalized for infractions during the 1993 season. Nor were any of our wins vacated. USC was penalized for violations during the 2004 season and did have wins vacated from that season. So I think there is a clear distinction. (Also, if you are going to hold probation for previous acts against the 1993 team, don't you also have to hold it against the 1957 team?) Moreover, cherry picking which NCs to "claim" is exactly why am against the idea that it is on us to claim anything. We are just reporting the facts, ma'am. It is a fact that Billingsley named Auburn the 1913 National Champion. It is a fact that Billingsley, the New York Times, Sagarin, FACTS, and Football Research named Auburn the 1983 National Champion. It is a fact that the National Championship Foundation named Auburn the 1993 National Champion. No opinions. No claims. Just facts. Of course, we also have 1957 and 2010. 2004...ok, we have to go rouge with this one. Our best argument is that USC was cheating at the time and was stripped of the championship, so it naturally falls to us. It is a dubious argument, but it is either that or don't count it. That is my 2 cents worth, anyway.
