  1. Who is? Certainly not the never-Trump Republicans that served in his first cabinet. They think he's 1) incompetent and 2) a danger to democracy.
  2. It's going to be fascinating to watch them try to re-invent the party post Trump.
  3. If it's on the screen I read it. If it's only in your mind, not so much.
  4. If you truly don't see the parallel to Trump and the relevance of it to this particular discussion, I have wonder why you read the bible at all. How is any of it relative to modern life?? Hell, I'm an atheist and I get it.
  5. Try harder. It was pretty plain and straightforward. Do I need to go back and spoon feed you by quoting sentences? Just pick one of the several articles quoted. They all pretty much say the same thing regarding the attraction of evangelicals to Trump.
  6. You should read it. I think it does. Devil = evil; Trump = evil. Devil offers power; Trump offers power. "Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. "All this I will give you," he said, "if you will bow down and worship me." Jesus said to him, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: `Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only."
  7. Talk about "keeping up". Maybe if you actually read some of these articles on the subject, it would be less so.
  8. Make it easier by improving your writing: "Not the a question of how representative he is."
  9. That sounds exactly like one of those traditional descriptions of the devil - trade your soul for power. Matthew 4:1-11 Trump will wind up a subject of sermons. But not in a good way.
  10. OK, fine. AGW is a hoax.
  11. It's not the poo-flinging remarks that's at issue here, it's the actual poo-flinging.
  12. I wish these guys who won't vote for Trump but "disagree" with "Biden's policies" would be more explicit in specifying what policy they disagree with.
  13. Doubtless because he is such a good representative for those beliefs.
  14. Are you referring to a particular evasion or is all of them?
  15. Of course there's also the shear blind gullibility" "Christine Munnin, 54, cradling her eight-month-old granddaughter Genevieve, said she thought the president was doing a “phenomenal” job, boosting the economy and creating jobs. “He’s pro-life and he supports the right of the unborn. “I believe people change. He has made wrong choices but I have made wrong choices. He has the best interests of the country at heart.” Yeah, just like most narcissists.
  16. One of the things that ties Trump to Christians - as ironic as it is - is a strong sense of victimhood: "The president’s grip on the evangelical movement looked as solid as ever. He dips into a deep well of grievance: criticism of him in the media only appears to strengthen him among groups who complain that they, too, are persecuted by the urban elites. Their consciences have found their own way of coming to terms with the seemingly glaring contradiction between their strict moral principles and Trump’s private life, often by reaching for biblical terms such as forgiveness and redemption." https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/sep/21/christian-conservatives-trump-values-voters
  17. I didn't create it, I just display it. (And it's not like you actually read those links. ) "Reading his remarks, Trump exclaimed, “It’s impossible to think of the life of our own country without the influence of [Jesus’] example and of his teachings. Our miraculous founding, overcoming civil war, abolishing slavery, defeating communism and fascism, reaching boundless heights of science and discovering so many incredible things…And the United States ultimately becoming a truly great nation and we’re gonna keep it that way. We’re not going to let it go.” That is the promise of MAGA. It’s the reason the vast majority of white evangelicals elevate Trump and what his possible return as President means for the future of the country. As Trump slowly walked off stage, he began a chant of “USA! USA!” throughout the First Baptist audience. What viewers online could not hear was the small group of attendees next to me in the back of the sanctuary who changed the chant into, “We love you! We love you! We love you!” They weren’t chanting to Jesus. They were chanting to their savior."
  18. There's nothing to read when you refuse to answer the question.
  19. I'm curious. Who - in your opinion - is more Christian, Biden or Trump?
