  1. Perhaps he understands Trump far better than Ryan does and is making a safer vote for the sake of the country.
  2. No, I meant you. You ultimately resort to insults, name calling or sophomoric "wit". Invariably.
  3. No, those weren't "lies", those were cited as possible evidence/proof and/or suspicions that sparked the investigation. Who claimed actual knowledge they were authentic? You just want to apply the word "lie" to the whole affair as if it were totally bogus. Never mind what the investigation actually uncovered - Russia did help Trump, they did talk to the Trump campaign, Trump did commit obstruction. And I predict we haven't heard the last of the Trump/Russia relationship, which extends beyond the 2016 campaign.
  4. You and I both know there was no point other than trying to imply Fox is no different than everyone else - regardless of scale and substance - which is patently absurd.
  5. Yeah, that's what I figured. It was a mindless post with no point. (But thanks for reminding me of the time. )
  6. He's far more fixated on his daughter than Melania. https://newrepublic.com/post/173968/donald-trump-fantasized-sex-ivanka-new-book-says https://www.salon.com/2018/03/23/why-is-trump-fixated-on-women-who-remind-him-of-his-daughter/ etc.....
  7. I certainly never have, and would not think of, disputing that. Now, what was your point again?
  8. Good grief. These are exactly the same arguments being made - and debunked - against AGW on this forum 10 years ago.
  9. Actually - according to Mark Esper - Trump himself "mentioned" it. https://www.npr.org/2022/05/09/1097517470/trump-esper-book-defense-secretary Former Pentagon chief Esper says Trump asked about shooting protesters
  10. Specifically, what were the "lies" of Russia, Russia, Russia?
  11. Paul Ryan said he won't voter for Trump and will write in a Republican candidate. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/elections/2024/05/08/paul-ryan-donald-trump-2024/73616325007/ Paul Ryan says he won't vote for Donald Trump: 'Character is too important'
  12. They are calculating hypocrites. Evangelicals - at least the dominionists - view Trump as the imperfect/sinner warrior working in their behalf. He is going deliver to them - the righteous - a theocracy. https://time.com/6130228/donald-trump-christmas-evangelicals/ https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/sep/21/christian-conservatives-trump-values-voters
  13. There are several "falsehoods" and/or distortions in that post: (1) No cases of inadvertent or deliberate possession have been prosecuted when possessor voluntarily returned said documents. (Including Pence.) (2) Biden was not charged with possessing classified documents. (And neither would have Trump had he promptly returned them.) (3) Yeah, it will be. But I'm betting she won't that far, as her favoritism toward Trump - her patron - is already under close scrutiny.
  14. Fox, NBC, CNN All Hit With High-Profile Lawsuits Topline: When Karen McDougal, the former Playboy model who said she had an affair with Donald Trump before he became president, sued Fox News for defamation Thursday, she became only the latest public figure this year to file a high-profile lawsuit against big media companies. Here are McDougal’s and other claims against media outlets across the world: McDougal, who claimed to have an affair with Trump, alleges that Fox News pundit Tucker Carlson intentionally defamed her on his show by claiming she extorted Trump and is seeking unspecified punitive damages from the network (Carlson is not named as a defendant). George Zimmerman, the highly controversial figure who shot and killed Trayvon Martin (a 17-year-old African American) in 2012, filed a $100 million suit against Martin’s family for malicious prosecution, defamation and conspiracy Wednesday, and against HarperCollins, the publisher of a book by the Martin family’s lawyer. Republican representative Devin Nunes sued CNN for $435 million Monday claiming the network defamed Nunes when it reported he traveled to Vienna and met with Viktor Shokin, the former top Ukrainian prosecutor that Joe Biden helped oust in 2016; Nunes says the story is untrue, while CNN claims it reportedly asked him to comment before publishing. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle sued the Daily Mail’s parent company in October for the misuse of private information, copyright infringement and for breaking a U.K. data law, with Harry issuing a sharply worded statement about the media’s treatment of Meghan that referenced his mother, the late Princess Diana (who died while being chased by paparazzi); Harry also filed separate claims the same month against the Sun and Daily Mirror tabloids for allegedly hacking his phone. When Nicholas Sandmann was thrust into the national spotlight after a January viral video appeared to show him facing off with a Native American drummer, his family brought defamation lawsuits against the Washington Post in February for $250 million in damages, CNN for for $275 million in damages and NBCUniversal for another $275 million in damages—and while his suit against the Post was initially dismissed, in October a federal judge revived part of it, and advanced the CNN and NBC cases in separate decisions. Other claims this year: On December 4 motivational speaker Tony Robbins filed a libel suit in Ireland against Buzzfeed for reporting on his alleged sexual misconduct (which he denies). ============================================ So what's your point? Are you claiming these are equivalent to what Fox pleaded guilty to???
  15. That post deserves a good "whataboutism": https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/05/08/judge-trump-classified-documents-trial-date/ Trump’s classified documents trial blown apart by Cannon Judge Aileen Cannon, the Trump appointee in charge of the Florida prosecution, has repeatedly given Trump’s team exactly what it wants. His fans have noticed. "........Some of Cannon’s approach may be explained by inexperience. She has not been a judge for long. Her appointment (by Trump) came despite her having limited trial experience; she’d spent 14 days trying four criminal trials before being tapped for her current position. She also has reportedly seen two clerks resign in the past year. If there were a judge who actively wanted to delay Trump’s Florida trial, though, it’s not clear what they might have done much differently."
  16. I can't think of any. Reference the cases and I'll be glad to parse them with you.
  17. You talk as if LEO's watched it happen and did nothing. I doubt that's the case.
  18. Your question was specious. No other major news organization has lost such a large liable suit by admitting what they did and paying such a huge fine. If that's wrong, please enlighten us.
  19. She reminds me of some of the Mormon tourist hostesses when I visited the tabernacle in Salt Lake City.
  20. If only..... Only two problems: 1. They won't "root out" all of Hamas. 2. Hamas - or the equivalent - will simply regenerate based on the conditions/reality on the ground. I don't see this as having a military solution. The solution must be political, as unfeasible as that may sound.
  21. Here's the most recent update I've seen from NOAA. Nothing particularly "frenzied" about it : https://sciencecouncil.noaa.gov/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/1.1_SOS_Atlantic_Hurricanes_Climate.pdf Summary: Here, we address three important and societally relevant questions about Atlantic hurricane activity and climate: 1) Has there been a change in the number of Atlantic hurricanes? 2) Has human-caused climate change had any detectable influence on hurricanes and their impacts? 3) What changes do we expect going forward with continued global warming? Several Atlantic hurricane activity metrics show pronounced increases since 1980. However, evidence for any significant trends is much weaker considering trends beginning from the early 20th century, partly due to observed data limitations. Decreases in aerosol forcing since the 1970s and multidecadal ocean circulation changes are thought to be contributing to the increased Atlantic hurricane activity since 1980, though their relative contributions are still uncertain and with no scientific consensus. While greenhouse gas-induced warming may have also affected Atlantic hurricane activity, a detectable greenhouse gas influence on hurricane activity has not been identified with high confidence. This is partly due to the masking of any century-scale trends by pronounced multidecadal variability due to aerosols and/or internal variability. Determining the relative contributions of aerosols, internal variability, and other factors to the recent multidecadal variations in Atlantic hurricane activity has important implications for predictions for the coming decades. Future projections include increased risk of coastal inundation during storms due to sea level rise, likely increased hurricane rain rates and wind intensities, and possible increased numbers of Category 4-5 hurricanes, along with decreased numbers of tropical storms and hurricanes (all categories combined).
  22. If you have a problem with the law as written, then that's what you should be complaining about. I haven't been following the case closely, but it seems there's been testimony that supports the charge it was done specifically for political purposes rather than private. The fact the act occurred years before the 2016 election strengthens that argument IMO.
