  1. That was a nice one!! The spinnerbait bite is holding steady along with the lipless Crankbait on Martin. It's been great the last three weeks..caught 21.4 lbs (best five) on a War Eagle double gold willow/Colorado between 8:30 and 12 today. All spots! It was by far the best spotted bass day I've had on Martin. They are getting big here.
  2. Interesting info I bet in that old attic. My home lake is Hartwell back in South Carolina. I grew up fishing Hartwell, Russell and Clarks Hill with an occasional trip to Keowee. My grandpa had a place on Martins Creek near Clemson and Oconee Point and that's where I fell in love with fishing. As for here in Alabama my home lake is Martin but I've fished West Point a lot. I like to go up the river and catch largemouth most often but I'll fish south of the 109 bridge for spots as well. I prob. fish Martin 3 times or more a month because it's 35 minutes to the ramp at Paces Point from my house. My favorite lake in Alabama is Logan Martin. Those big Coosa River spots are hard to beat and that lake has some big largemouth in it.
  3. It was conceived from billfish rigs and it works to catch fish. If you need table fair they will fill a live well but I don't use them. I do use a spinnerbait with three and four blades every now and then but it's one single hook (unless I have a trailer hook on it ).
  4. I don't own an Alabama rig......hard headed I guess but if the Elites can't use them neither will I. I've been hammering them on Martin and West Point lately. Especially Martin.
  5. Appreciate you starting this! Fishing is what makes my soul complete. I could literally do it every day.....seriously. And while I usually target largemouth and spotted bass I'll also go after striped bass, hybrids, crappie, bedding bluegill, trout and big catfish. It's a passion that was handed down to me by my grandfather. I currently fish with the Auburn Bassmasters (finished 2nd in the Angler of the Year for 2016). We are the first club started with official BASS ties. Ray Scott has a direct connection to our club and several of our older anglers. I'm also entered in the Big Bucks Bass Trail out of Sylacauga Marine and the Bass Pro Shops Big Fish Trail that starts up this year. I also salt water fish as much as I am able. I'd have to say that my strengths are flipping jigs, casting square bills/lipless crank baits and ripping spinnerbaits. My weaknesses are deep water cranking and some finesse styles but I'm working on those. I got a lot better this year with the drop shot in deep water. And yes....this is the best time year.
  6. I know Rich fairly well and he has a lot of "clout" because of his previous and current connections with the NCAA. But I honestly think he can hinder the development of a program when he sees something that may or may not be there. Of course he has been very instrumental in how the NCAA looks at Auburn. The media may not get it but they (NCAA) do.
  7. Harrison is just a phenom! No way around it.
  8. The defense is the difference for most of the season. No reason we should lose a game scoring 30. Zero!
  9. Well folks....if we lose to Dallas on Sunday I think we are lucky to make the playoffs...or in the very least win the Division but play on the road.
  10. I believe we would have hung 45 on them had Bubba not fumbled at midfield. We were staring to put a good drive together.
  11. Sammie had a very good day but he was 2 drops away from having an epic day. He has to catch those TD passes in the future. Happy with where we are on offense and the secondary is getting better but the true test is coming. After the Dolphins and a bye week we have the Patriots, Ravens and Falcons. Big time!
  12. We do this every year...even when we have a very good team. I'll get worried if it becomes a trend. Side note......in each of the 6 Super Bowl winning seasons we lost to the Eagles.
  13. I am very happy with the start of this season so far. If Ben can stay healthy this team can get #7.
  14. Our best option the rest of the year is to run the ball down the throat and pop a few passes with a deep ball every now and then. All this eye candy is useless with what we have.
  15. I'll be on the lake chasing lunker bass and pay outs. Thanks for the work, stat.
  16. Clemson will still have to wait another 75 years to beat us here on the Plains after Saturday night. Auburn 35 Clemson 27
  17. Travis Williams is going to take the improvement of last season and multiply it by 10 before this group is done. The old LBU is returning....in my opinion.
  18. A lot of Auburn "high rollers" live in other states. We are spread out all over the country...particularly the southeast in places like Charlotte, Atlanta, Tampa, Houston, Raleigh, Chattanooga, etc. Bammers are here...in this state and they use their bammer connections to take care of former players. It's the dark side of recruiting in my opinion...but it happens everywhere.
  19. Hey...we have Kirby on one side and Satan on the other....both rivals and both on the schedule every year. Neither play each other unless it's in ATL for another 5 years. It's important we knock one of them off their horse in 2016.
  20. If we had five guys on offense that played like KI did from an attitude standpoint we'd be on a 28 game winning streak....or more.
