Seven Mary Three and Fuel have no business on this topic. To set the record, 50's era rock n roll was and always will be the best. 70's were also excellent. But I hold 90's close to my heart. Nirvana, STP, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, White Zombie, Tool, Blind Melon (except for No Rain), Sponge to name a few. But does anyone remember the Screaming Trees or Temple of the Dog?

Screeming Trees had one good song then faded into nothingness, but it was a good song.

Man, I love this thread...

Blind Melon is tops for me , Smashing Pumpkins ( IMO way underrated), Nirvana, Silverchair (Frogstomp was a GREAT album ), RHCP (been slowly coming around to them recently ), RATM, Alice in Chains (best unplugged ever) ,Tool, STP, Fuel, Soundgarden, Oleander...

Ex-squeeze me? Baking Powder? Why don't they belong? 7Mary3's American Standard was released in 1995 and Fuel released Sunburn in 1998.

Temple of the Dog was basically just pieces of Pearl Jam and Soundgarden.  They were good though.

Because they are absolutely terrible. I don't even know if they constitute as musicians. Just awful.

Yep, but didn't they come out before PJ and Soundgarden?

Nevermind. Soundgarden actually formed in '84. Do they still count as a "90's" band?

Soundgarten may have formed in the mid-80s but they were one of the key bands of grunge. Grunge while it started in the 80s, didn't hit the mainstream until the early 90s.

Edit: Badmotorfinger, which is their best album IMO, was released in 1991.

No doubt that was there best! But I can always listen to Superunknown start to finish. 4th of July is my favorite song.

I was 10 when Badmotor came out so I wasn't buying too many cassette tapes then. But by the time of Super came out I was on it. And Live's Throwing Copper I had on cassette. But it always seems that the first album is always the best. Bleach is my favorite by Nirvana, Gish - Smashing Pumpkins, Kerplunk - Green Day, Korn - Korn (obviously) Opiate - Tool(even though it was an EP), Facelift - AIC (it's the best but my favorite is ep Jar of Flies) etc...

Junior High, so you were 14ish. Not old by my count. I had the benefit of 2 older brothers so I liked whatever they listened to. I was probably the only 10 year old in Montgomery who listened to the Doors, Floyd and Zep.

Actually, I just looked it up.  The album came out in the fall of 1991.  That was my senior year.  I was 17.
