Seven different Tigers had an impact play tonight. Don't understand rushing only 3, when the DL is struggling applying pressure with 4. War Eagle! AU64 10,122
Pretty clear the offense won this one for us! That's happened a lot in the past several years though I guess the point could be made that stopping USCe on 4th down on their last drive into Auburn territory was crucial...and then the O could not keep the ball for 2-1/2 minutes to wrap up the game....and instead, gave it back so the OBC had another shot. So....so maybe when the clock went 00:00...both Offense and Defense had helped preserve the win.
Mikey 16,638
My wild guess about rushing 3 is that they thought it didn't matter, rush 3 or rush 4 we're not going to get pressure anyway, so try to cover the receivers.

I was thinking the same thing.... It's depressing when our own coaches are thinking that.
AUbritt 611
Oh, I'm not saying the D did nothing. Not at all. But the O carried the D tonight. And, @Mikey -- that's my guess, too.

This is reminiscent of past years where the defense gets pushed around all game long but at a crucial moment steps up and gets a turnover or a big stop. It is maddening that we started so good this year and seem to have regressed on that side of the ball.

StuBob 12
I believe the offensive report card #9 needs a pass.
