As I said in another post, since the NCAA does not officially recognize a NCAA Div-1 football national champion, we can say we are national champions because of our undeafeted season. Nobody can dispute that because all the polls are just opinion. Heck if you want to get technical about it, there has never been any official NCAA Div-1 national champions at all. quietfan 233 Posted January 4, 2005 Share Posted January 4, 2005 I don't want to become a Bammer who counts every obscure MNC, but until any of their MNC teams, or USC or Oklahoma this year, beats us on the field, how can they argue otherwise! The ONLY reason we're not in the Orange Bowl is because of Okalhoma's and/or USC's last season, which should have nothing to do with this season. In fact, given our last season and Petrinogate, we are even MORE impressive than them! Tommy Tuberville just said it on the ESPN just a little while ago (paraphrasing): "USC, Oklahoma, we'll meet you on the field, anywhere, anytime!"
