RunInRed 16,409
@brandonjohn_ and @elliott_morrissey22, students at @auburnu believe in the human touch. Their annual summer trip is sponsored by @147million Orphans, a Nashville, Tenn., based organization. 147 was created to help children impacted by the world-wide orphan crisis and who are living in poverty. Over a two week span, Brandon and Elliot help out at a local orphanage in Masindi, Uganda, called Family Spirit. This orphanage houses around 200 children who have been displaced from their families for reasons including war and flat-out abandonment from parents. Elliott has been going on the trip since 2011. He always talks about how much different and better the orphanage looks since then. Over the past few years, they have built a wall around the facility for protection, a new kitchen, and a driveway. Through 147, the kids are now also receiving three meals a day, clean bedding, and new clothes. Brandon and Elliott have said they are going to continue going for years to come. Hopefully they can and continue to spread love to these kids, #Auburn style!
