AlaskanFAN 1,666
2018 NCAA Championships took place June 6-9 in Eugene, Oregon at the historic Hayward Field (Think Prefontain). Georgia Men won their 1st Tack and Field NCAA Championship and the Georgia women lost to NCAA Champions USCw by one point on the last race on the last day. Other notable items for the MEN, 6 SEC teams in the top 10 and 8 in the top 14. Auburn was #14 The Georgia men won with 52 total points, while the Auburn men had a total of 18. Notible items for the WOMEN, 4 SEC teams in the top 10 and 6 in the top 15. Auburn was #16 The USCw women had 53 total points, while the Auburn women had a total of 17. Got a long way to catch up in Tack and Field if we want to be more competitive. https://www.ncaa.com/sites/default/files/external/track-field/results/d1/outdoor18/Finals/scores.htm
augolf1716 21,156
Not a great showing but had no idea uga was that good to overtake UF in the men's. Just means we got a ways to go to catch up with the top teams. But if uga can do why not us.

Mostly it just takes 3 or 4 really world class athletes to win the team score the way points are distributed. AU had a second and third in the 400 meters for men and that was more than half our points.

lionheartkc 6,150
Should be noted that this is the first time in 10 years that AU has placed in the top 20 for both men's and women's teams. It's not world beating, but it's progress. In fact, the majority of our athletic teams have had outstanding seasons compared to their usual standards. I don't have all of the numbers, but it may have been the best overall year AU has had.
