Tiger in Spain 0
Titan's embarrassing debut The boorish behavior of first-round draft pick Adam "Pacman'' Jones should be evidence enough that the Tennessee Titans need to put their players on the straight and narrow. When football players are making more headlines off the field than on, the team has trouble. Jones became the fifth Titan this year to turn up in court. He's charged with assault and felony vandalism after an incident at a nightclub, formerly known as The Trap and now 615. Then, he was shown on television at night court laughing like it was a big joke. The National Football League requires that players charged with a crime undergo clinical evaluation along with appropriate treatment. Commissioner Paul Tagliabue will have the final say on disciplining Jones in the game. Plus, he has his day in court. But Titans management certainly would do well to reassure the public it is doing its part to police players. Former Titan Samari Rolle, Brad Hopkins and Tank Williams have been in trouble with the law over the last five months. Rolle and Hopkins faced charges related to domestic violence over altercations with their wives. Wide receiver Tyrone Calico was cited for public indecency. Williams, like Steve McNair the year before, was arrested for driving under the influence. Jones attended an NFL rookie training session that supposedly talks to newcomers about life in the big leagues. A few months ago, Metro Police Chief Ronal Serpas was brought in to talk to the Titans players. A refresher course for rookies may be needed. Stronger public admonishment by the Titans brass would help. As University of Tennessee head football coach Phil Fulmer said of 11 of his players arrested and cited over a 13-month period, "When one of us doesn't behave, we're all embarrassed.'' Titan blue should be blushing. Link
MDM4AU 336
Hate on the Vols but not my Titans. If he is still acting this way once camp and the season starts then...ok. But don't go hating just yet. People from West Virginia don't get out to the big city much.
TitanTiger 20,542
All that low-watt Titan newcomer did was guarantee himself a lower contract and one fills with behavior clauses to keep his immature ass in line. You reap what you sow...
