At least tech spent a lot of years and had an impact on the SEC at one time. IMO, SEC football is 'southern football'. ACC football is a joke. That was season we played Michigan in the Sugar Bowl so I has to watch all the build up from the Michigan side. I particularly remember a press conference the Michigan coach in which he was asked if he thought it would be a high scoring ball game. I will never forget his reply: "It will be a defensive ballgame. Southerners understand defense. In fact the average Southerner understands more about football in general than any sports writer in this room." I nearly fell on the floor on the floor laughing.
