Old-fashion Anti-semitism

This tweet and the conversation around it illustrates the shortcomings of a racism definition based on overly simplistic definitions of power, oppressed and oppressors. A generation has been raised on this kind of thinking in educational settings and social media.   It creates a desensitization toward antisemitism.

The silence on this thread is deafening.

What do you want said?

She is wrong in her stance and inturn is acting in a racist manner. Noone should be "Fair Game" to be discriminated against based on anything (Race, Religion, Nationality, sexual orientation, domestic upbringing, political view, or personal preference)

Her ignorance should be educated not vilified.  That is the problem in today's society, we want to weaponize anything that can push forward our personal or political agenda and we no longer try to nor are we willing to accept re-education of errant beliefs or views. Until that is addressed on a national level and we can all agree to coexist in a loving manner then hate will always win!

Surely you are not calling her a Democrat.  :-\

She's still a chip off the old block, Dick Cheney.  And check her voting record supporting trump.  I mention her because she has integrity and puts country over self, not that I would vote for her - which I wouldn't (unless the alternative was a MAGA ;D).    She's about as conservative as they come, only places country over self.

In fact, she's perfectly positioned to form a third party as a conservative alternative.  That's what Strom Thurman did with the Democratic white nationalists and racists, formed the Dixiecrat party.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dixiecrat

Only it this case it would be the reasonable leaving the crazy instead of crazy leaving the reasonable.  ;D

But I don't think she'll do it, unless maybe Trump gets the nomination and then starts to show it's possible he could win (in 24).

But, I think she's expects Trump to disappear soon and I don't think "election denial"  has much life sans Trump.

Hopefully, the same will be true for Trump's exploitation of xenophobia fear and white nationalistic racism.  Trump would just have soon seen them grow - he has 100% of their vote.

We shall see how much Liz is willing to tolerate for the party she represents.

There is a LONG history of conspiracy theory about Jewish people secretly or overtly amassing wealth, controlling the economy, and influencing politics beyond what our Protestant rich elites do. It's all BS of course, but it has infiltrated much of conservative right and libertarian thought and historic propaganda for many decades.

You assume the request for information is genuine, which in 99% of cases when asked in this manner, it almost certainly is not.

It is loaded. Framing it within the assumption that all of that blood libel is factual indicates the question is rhetorical, meaning she's making a statement, not seeking information.

This is an extremely common rhetorical sleight of hand known as "Just Asking Questions" or "JAQing off."

I know absolutists think they can win over such stupidity in the marketplace of ideas, but you can't if it's not being asked in good faith.

You don't beat Alex Jones and his ilk by engaging as if he's asking on good faith. You will lose. The only way to win is to refuse to play the game his way.
