WarTiger 3,909
Spring Practice, not Spring Training that's MLB.... Anyway, here they are.. Can anybody tell me why there is such a difference in start and ending date of spring practice among all the schools. I would expect it to be more similar. Here are the dates for Spring practice at all 12 SEC schools. Alabama starts Feb. 24, finishes April 1 Arkansas starts March 27, finishes April 15 Auburn starts Feb. 28, finishes March 22 (Spring game is March 18) Florida starts March 29, finishes April 22 Georgia starts March 4, finishes April 8 Kentucky starts March 29, finishes April 22 LSU starts March 4, finishes April 1 Ole Miss starts March 6, finishes April 8 Mississippi State starts March 6, finishes April 8 South Carolina starts March 14, finishes April 8 Tennessee starts March 2, finishes April 8 Vanderbilt starts March 14, finishes April 15 (Spring game is April 1)
WaDE'05 8
This is just a shot in the dark but it may have to do with when each school takes their spring break. Ohter than that, it may just be the coahes' discretion. Maybe someone else around here has a better answer to your question.
Guest Tigrinum Major
It is based on how they spread out the practices also. There are only so many workouts allowed per NCAA rules, so coaches spread them out over finals and breaks and such. Some rush to get them in quickly, others take a more prolonged approach, probably to keep minds on the game longer.
