AUBURN -- The first scrimmage of the preseason Wednesday ended with virtually nobody at Auburn happy.

The verdict from coaches: too many penalties and too many turnovers. The verdict from everyone else: too long and too hot.

"We had a good effort, but a lot of mistakes," Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville said. "We're not a very good football team right now."

Tommy says the same thing every year at this time...and he's right. But that will all change in the weeks to come.

I love the video after LSU threw that Hail Mary to beat Kentucky. They interview Saban 10 seconds later and he acts like they lost.

Amen, I do not ever remember hearing Saban happy during practice. This is a bit of coach speak too.

While this may be coach speak, Judging from what I heard from people who were there, they did have a pretty bad day. It's early, but they need to get their butts in gear.
