I was trying to explain to someone the other day how much Borges has done for this AU team...and they didnt really get it.

Do you have any figures that show the difference offensively between the NallBall season and what Borges has done?

Previous Offensive Success…

Only eleven Auburn teams have fielded an offense, averaging over 400-yards per game.

1970: 485.0

1995: 460.6

1988: 434.2

1969: 422.5

2004: 420.7

1993: 420.0

1985: 417.6

1986: 416.7

1994: 411.5

1984: 410.0

2005: 409.8

In just two seasons both offensive units under Al Borges have made the top-eleven list. Here are the top-ten scoring offenses in school history:

1995: 38.5

1969: 36.3

1970: 35.5

1986: 34.5

1996: 33.3

1994: 32.5

2005: 32.2

1993: 32.1

2004: 32.1

1971: 31.3

Once again, the 2004 and 2005 offensive units under Al Borges are two of the best in school history. In terms of touchdown frequency, the 2004 team was 5th best since 1967, scoring every 16.5 plays and the 2005 squad was 9th best, averaging a touchdown every 17.4 plays. The 1995 offense was No. 1 scoring a touchdown every 14.6 plays.

Since 1969, here is our average offensive yards per game against a ranked opponent:

I'm surprised the 02 Petrino team wasn't ranked a little higher.

WAR-BORGES :cheer:

When you look at redzone scoring pct, 3rd down pct and average per play, Petrino's offense is high on the list. You have to remember that Borges worked with Campbell as a 5th year senior and Petrino had to work through several games before he finally settled in on Campbell as a soph. Petrino wasn't ready to open up his offense in 2002 and centered his offense around a strong running attack.

Just looking at how much JC's QB rating improved from 2001 to 2002, I have no doubt JC would have continued to improve in 03 had Petrino been there rather than Nall. In fact, JC's rating dropped in 2003 from 2002.

When you consider that Auburn has not had a coach that made it a point to run up the score on opponents, then our national rankings are that much more impressive.

What could Gorgeous Borges have done if CTT had not consistently called off the Tigers (as opposed to dogs)?

Now compare CMFS against Florida last year and you see the difference (not that Mikey is any part of this discussion...)
