Its really not fair to compare one player to another. Cox and JP Wilson did their feats at 5A and 6A programs whereas Smelley and Croyle did them at 1A or 2A programs. I've played baseball and football in this state at the 5A and 6A levels and there is a huge jump between those two. And we were a midiocre to bad team and we drilled a 4A state championship contender. I'm just saying, they should break them up by class. In the smaller divisions, one great player makes a bigger difference. I think Brandon and JP are at an advantage because they were part of a system rather than one man offenses. I watched Brodie in high school and was not impresses. I saw carnell in high schoool and he impressed me, moreso as a defensive back than tail back. He was a big hitter in high school. I'm proobably biased, but there are a lot of great "role" players that get lost at the bigger level because they are a part of a system. There are enough great players around them so they don't shine quite as much.

It is impressive just to be on the list. If you are good enough to carry individual records, then you probably have the talent to start in the SEC.

What's up with Patrick Nix?

They only list him for one year--1987--and 5,215 yds on the "career yards" list, but his name isn't mentioned on the single season record list (unless I overlooked it), where Chris Smelly is listed first at 4120 yds in a single season?

In general, it's hard to compare names on the career list because some have more years than others. Brandon Cox is only listed for two years, 2000-2001. Also, didn't Brodie Croyle miss most or all of a year due to knee surgery in high school? They give him five years, 1996-97-98-99-2000.

Also, did I miss Bo Jackson, or is he not on any of the rushing lists--career, season, or single game?

I agree, though, just to make the list is a compliment to a lot of great high school players. Congrats to all!
