BAMMERPERRY 0
link? you have to be a loser and buy the magazine, which, of course, I did, since it had a dreamy picture of John Wilson on the cover. Tiger in Spain 0
Wasn't Lindy's the rag that was trying to pass off that NYT's story as current here a few weeks ago? Here's TiS's unit rankings: Dumbass T1. Lindy's T1. BP

BamaGrad03 0
Auburn ranked 8th at RB is asinine. As is Alabama ranked 1st in OL. And Alabama ranked 4th in LB. We may end up having great linebackers, but at this point our LB unit has ONE proven playmaker. We are going to start a true freshman at SAM. I'd take Alabama's WRs at 1st. The only argument I would consider is UF's. I would rank UA ahead of Auburn in special teams. AU lost some key players at that spot. We still have all our kickers/punters and Javier Arenas is only a soph. Alabama's secondary should be 3rd at worst. But I can understand them dropping us lower since we lost Jeffery Dukes. Again, this a spot that AU had some big losses and is a question mark for them next year.

otterinbham 0
Again, what neanderthal pays attention to the pre-season pubs? They are invariably wrong. In fact, somebody did an article a few years ago on their accuracy, comparing preseason rankings with actual post season results, and Lindy's was at the rock bottom. So, BP, whatever gets you through the night.
Ravad 78
Well just like I have been saying, all that talent coupled with god little nicky, anything less then an SEC championship is a disappointment. And BG you are returning one of the most experienced OL’s in the SEC, if not the most.

Again, this a spot that AU had some big losses and is a question mark for them next year. We had A loss, albeit a big one, in David Irons. And yes, overall these rankings are terrible. IMO, here's where Auburn should be ranked compared to where they actually are: QB - 5, should be 4 RB - 8, should be 2 WR - 11, until proven otherwise I'm okay with that OL - 10, should be 6 DL - 3, that's fine LB - 9, should be 6 Secondary - 3, should be 2, I'm guessing this magazine came out before the news about Paul Oliver. That immediately drops UGA to at least 4th Special Teams - 11, until proven otherwise I'm fine with it. The only thing we know will be solid are the kickoff return specialists. And Alabama being ranked the #1 OL... well...

And BG you are returning one of the most experienced OL’s in the SEC, if not the most. Experience doesn't mean the best though. Just think, one of our returning seniors, Chris Capps will be on the bench. We had A loss, albeit a big one, in David Irons. AU's secondary was their weak point on defense last year. And they lost their second best DB from that squad. I don't think their secondary is bad. Just think Alabama's is better. I don't think everything is better. Especially DL and LB. But Secondary I would give the nod to UA.

That was true in '05, but not last year. Our secondary was better than our LBs in '06. Eric Brock saved us a few times early in the season, and Aairon Savage is the best looking young safety we've had since I can remember. Also, if DI was our second best DB, who was our best? As for Alabama's being better, I can see where you're coming from there, but that wasn't my point, I didn't even mention them.
saniflush 0
The one that is laughable to me is the QB rankings! 1. Tennessee - Ainge has not had a great year yet. Why this one? 2. Kentucky - ????????? 3. Alabama - 1a he has the tools. Will he have the line and muturity? 4. Florida - What a joke! He has never run the offense, called the plays or read defenses. This should be interesting! 5. Auburn - 1b - Senior proven QB. Can he stay healthy, and again will he have a line? 6. UGA - 2 -Came a long way last year in a short amout of time. Could be a "sophmore slump" 7. So. Carolina - 3 - never under estimate what CSS will do with a QB! 8. LSU - Gonna be growing pains 9. Vanderbilt - HA HA. 10. Arkansas - 4 - not flashy but their running game will make him look decent. 11. Ole Miss - I don't even think I have to say it. 12. Miss St. - Ibid. In his limited attempts, with a very strong running game to take the heat off, he was sub-par to say the least.

Led the league in passing last year. I'd put UK #1 Because of no running game. The reason I had them ????? marked is because I think he is an unknown quantity right now. He will need a lot of help to stay on the curve of last years numbers.
SouthLink02 8
UGA RB unit that high is a joke Our LB rankings are low and well...should be...but by the end of the year...Dewberry, Miller, and Dent may be one of the best trio in the SEC.

SouthLink02 8
I think our secondary will be fine. If there was one spot we "could" take a hit, it was there. Asher Allen, Flowers, and some others have PT and are very good, imo.
