Lebo is just more of the same.  Look at prior coach's records at Auburn.

Lebo is the 8th winningest, by percentage, coach in history.  Three of those coaches with better percentages had 5 or less seasons as HC. The conference record of 34% is 7th best.

This is going to seem like something that would be on an UA site, but sure wish we could go back in time and bring Eaves back as the coach.  Now it is even more obvious why we named the coliseum after him.

Jeff Lebo only has 2 winning seasons overall and just 1 winning season in the SEC during his 6 years on the Plains. No TRUE Auburn fan should EVER be happy or want to give him another year with those kinds of stats.

Those are cool stats on former basketball coaches. Can any of you find some stats of our former baseball coaches? Thank you.

We need a coach who's a winner. Lebo's kids played hard but hadn't won anything through his five years, and Lebo never really brought in a stellar recruiting class. Continuous low tier teams beat up on us in the beginning of the year and it would take us until the middle of the season to at least open oue eyes. I like Lebo as a man, but he is not a basketball coach. I don't really have any reason to be excited about this because the names that have been tossed around as possible succeeders haven't been what we need to take this program in another direction. Just my opinion though. WDE

Those are great points, but are points that make anyone with any love for AU BB want to get rid of him and get a good coach.

Ask yourself...Are we satisfied with "more of the same", a coach who is 8 on the list of win pct., and has a conference record of 34% and 7th best in AU history?

We are AU...we deserve better.

There is no way I am happy with numbers like that.  But, on the other hand maybe the University is.  No coach since Joel Eaves in 1963 is over .500, overall, in the conference.  It seems that maybe they are OK with that as long as the program is clean.

I agree 100% with you.  It is the school/Athletic Dept. at fault.  (I also blame the AU fanbase to an extent for not demanding better in BB.  How long would any AD stay at AU if they accepted that kind of mediocrity from the football coach?)  AU has historically just tolerated a BB team because the SEC demands a team to compete.  I had hoped with the building of the new arena that AU had become serious about competing in BB, but I am not totally sure of that.  If Lebo comes back, I will be certain that no one in the AD office cares what we do in BB.

Sure, I'll back Lebo. I'll back him right out the door. We need a coach who knows how to play to win and not a coach who plays not to lose.

I have nothing against Jeff Lebo as a person. And your right, he is a good man who will not cheat to get wins.

The thing I have against him is that he's had 6 years and we seem to be going backwards every year. I thought after we had a pretty good year last year we would be even stronger for the 2009/10 season but instead, we fell flat on our face for the 5th time in 6 years.
