Auburn and the SEC

Recommended Posts

As of tonight there could potentially be 5 SEC teams that could still make the 8 team CWS bracket. Of course its highly unlikely that would happen, but with the way the bracket is set up it is possible for 5 of the 6 SEC teams still alive to make it to Omaha. The only teams that could potentially play each other in a Super regional are us and Bama, and of course that would result in them not making the trip to Omaha!

The fact that half our conference is still alive in the tournament (3 from our western division) shows what an accomplishment winning the west was this year and that regardless of the outcome of game 7, it has truly been a privilege to watch this team. The improvement they have shown from last season to this one has been nothing short of amazing- going from a team that relied solely on power to leading the league in almost every offensive statistic such as batting average and sac bunts is no small feat, and shows the dedication of the players and the coaches. They have had a great season, and I hope that those who are playing their final few games in an Auburn uniform pull together and carry this team to Omaha. There is only one better place to play your final game than Plainsman Park- and that place is Rosenblatt Stadium!
