Mikey 16,578
The first step towards getting us into post season play had, SIMPLY HAD to be scheduling games like this to bump the RPI. Pawloski's tactic was to schedule wimps in order win over half the games. Newsflash Paws: If you have to do that to win 50% you don't belong in the NCAA tournament anyway. Home and homes with Ga. Tech, Clemson and FSU are easy trips and provide an opportunity to open some eyes nationally. We should play all three routinely, IMHO.
cptau 169
The SEC east and ACC overlap in 4 states now (Georgia, Flordia, S Carolina and Kentucky). Playing the 3 closest ACC schools would also make it easier to have a good number of Auburn fans at those away games.

PowerOfDixieland 3,226
Glad to see that...should help us recruit in the Atlanta area which is baseball hotbed. Bingo. Pawlowski was obvious in his absence on the recruiting trail in Gwinnett, (north) Fulton, and Cobb counties. Anybody ever look at a JP roster and wonder why there were no high school names like Parkview, Brookwood, Milton, Walton, Lassiter, Pope and on and on? The friggin' head coach at Chattahoochee (Lemmons) and the head assistant at Pope (Zarbnisky) both played at Auburn. Former Auburn pitching coach Davis May was an assistant at Roswell and coached at East Cobb Baseball for a dozen years or more. That has started to change.
