  1. There is something really odd about his getting the runaround in Tuskaloser. Even if they've decided they really do NOT want him I don't understand it being handled in that fashion. Maybe he showed up un-announced and un-invited and their coaches already had a tight schedule with other prospects? The tale as told doesn't have a true ring to it, there has to be more.
  2. Seemingly, one would think that a recruit would love for his choice to be just as unknown as the previous one so the guessing game can be played out among the fans.In this case, the recruit that commits first would be essentially announcing where the second guy is playing. That'seven assuming they pick the same school. According to B Matthews, they are planning on picking the same school. Planning being the operative word. Yes, but what we are saying is that's only an issue if you believe this is straight up. They may have all the intentions in the world to be a package deal, but as many have said that rarely pans out. In the event it doesn't, the suspense to see if it does is just as much of a game as everything else. Yup & another factor could be KJ does not appear to be high on Bama right now. Not sure if they are not high on him or what but that's where things appear to be right now. uat can only take one or two more LBer's in this class. I think uat likes Britt but has at least 3 to 4 LBers ahead of Britt. From reading the bol site anyways. There was a recent announcement about them getting a commitment from a JUCO LB. Maybe they don't see this year's offering as the goldmine that we believe it to be? In any case, if that fills one of their four or five LB slots I'm a happy camper.
  3. Ah, so the "buddy deal" is not with a kid named Dylan Humble as stated above, but actually with T.D. Moultry, another of our top LB targets. So are we still "in great shape" with those four top LB prospects or has our list of four that we are in great shape with dwindled down to one or two?
  4. Issuing ultimatums is not a good way to win friends and influence people. Maybe Jax State will be a good place for the buddy system?
  5. A lot of priest say the same thing on wedding day :-\ Link?
  6. "100 percent committed for now". We're today's favorite, which I suppose is better than not being today's favorite but don't give me "committed". Young man, you are nowhere near committed.
  7. That means so very, very little. It means more than him looking horrible.
  8. He's on a limited pass count right now. I would be a bit surprised if he wins it. Also, he has lost so much practice, no way is CGM gonig to throw him into the QB competition for this fall. Its JJ, WHite and/or JFIII IMO. Queen is just not ready... Queen looked very ready last spring practice. Limited pass count right now and full go by summer workouts. He has a shot, particularly if some of the other contenders disappoint. Queen can play the position.
  9. Plus they signed more & bigger LBs out of necessity. Most of their D in the Saban era was in the 3-4 which requires more and bigger LBs since they were only using 3 DL on must plays. So it's a numbers thing and as a result you are saying that they signed only 3/4 as many DL as we did but signed 1&1/3 as many LB? Seems more like they sign at least twice as many LB as we have been signing but I haven't been counting bammer noses. What I do know is that if they are signing fewer DL than we are that's not hurting them as much as our shortcomings at LB are hurting us.
  10. No, they don't take them "just for the heck of it". They, more so than many other schools, realize that the rate of linebackers not performing up to expectations is very high. They sign enough so that when a couple under perform they have others waiting to plug in the gaps. What we've been doing is signing a very few and if they can't make the plays we're just stuck with just putting 'em on the field anyway.
  11. Maybe you should find somebody that's connected in North Alabama and check it out?
  12. There was a top-rated LB from Atlanta that was committed to AU but changed to Ohio State because of one or our frequent coaching changes. The name escapes me now, but he developed some kind of medical issue and couldn't finish his playing years for Urban Crier. That may be who is being thought of here. I don't recall a nationally sought Atlanta LB that flipped from us to UAT.
  13. uat did put on quite a show for TD. AU still leads. The article does not sound terrific for us. Not great he said Bama was LBU. Right now they ARE LBU and this has happened right under our noses. Why/how this happened would have to come from somebody that works way, way inside the football program. However, THAT it has happened is undeniable. We need to turn this around and pronto, though since I'm not a professional recruiter I don't know how to fight it.
  14. That's good, but there have been a lot of moms that loved AU and then watched their kid play elsewhere. Rashad Evans is the first that comes to mind.
  15. Seems like a legitimate prospect, and one we can certainly use.
  16. Head coach, no. Now, if there's some way we can get his last year of eligibility back......
  17. Does he have a committable offer to UAT or is he thinking of nailing a spot down somewhere else (Auburn) unless or until he gets the call from Tuskaloser?
  18. I hope there are eight to ten LB's out there that we are "recruiting the hardest". Picking four and working on them hasn't turned out so great for us.
  19. The player himself could release such information, but grades, etc. are covered by the Privacy Act. The school, coaches and so forth are forbidden by law to comment. I've also heard rumblings but without a direct quote from the player or his parents there is nothing to go on. Our coaches will have a solid idea of his status but they cannot release that info to the public in any fashion.
  20. If there's any doubt as to what Gus thinks about the pocket passer vs dual threat debate, that 2016-2017-2018 QB commit list should answer it for good. Then 2013-2014-2015 should have answered it for good the other way. I think we'll use the guy that gives us the best chance to win. We'll certainly have some of each flavor to choose from.
  21. All these guys were Lashlee's recruits. Do those poeple on the "Fire Lashlee" bandwagon want to wet-nurse these QB's for the next three years or do we need to keep Ol' Coach Rhett?
  22. That's good news! At least he was here and knows what's what.
