Lol. They are planning to have a life together so it's natural for him to look at her first. Not necessarily for approval. His look could have meant "I'm going here baby." And she could be the type that says "I'm ok with whatever you decide." If that's the case that does not make her a big factor. It would mean she will not get in the way of him chasing his dream. Let him make his own choice and be there to support him. That is the most likely scenario as all the info the last week of his recruitment said she was not a big factor in his decision as was previously thought.

Then why even look at or ask your woman's opinion when making big decisions? I know I do. But I also know two guys who never ever look at or asks their woman when making big decisions. They just do it.

I wonder if JS and NCM are going to have a fight over the #3. JS seems to be enthralled with this #.

Yeah I mentioned this earlier in the thread. For us jersey number fanatics, will be interesting.

There will be some offensive jersey numbers that will come open due to attrition, so perhaps Craig-Myers will change numbers.

Some skill position numbers that will come open:

    #6, #8, #14, #18, #80

Thanks again for editing that correctly for me @ellitor

I find it strange the only teams recruiting this guy were Auburn, Texas A&M,  and Florida.

I'd of thought every team in the country would be beating down his door...

There were several others that reached out to him. He states this in his recent interview, "I've had a lot of phone calls and text messages from coaches around the country."

And he nipped many of them in the bud, "I was blunt at the beginning of each conversation, this is what I'm looking for."

Stidham has to be a little rusty but most of us think he is so talented that he will ultimately be starting QB by next fall.

Not just the HS scout team work, but he had a sports nutritionist guide him on what to eat and encouraged him to practice to avoid being rusty this Spring.

He also works out with DBs each Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday morning.

EDIT: Auburn2Eugene and I are on the same page as he posted the link above too.

Now I understand your profile name .. haha.

Nah. It was my very first sports username, dating back to 2000, when the AF2's Tennessee Valley Vipers were the new football team in Huntsville. There were literally about 5 fans on the internet following the AF2 then. Haven't followed them in 10 years, but the name stuck.

Seriously, you are absolutely right about bad karma.  I, too, am in sales and have missed out on a "big order coming!"

Yeah and it sucks big time. I once had a couple of frosty beverages a few hours prior to a close, thinking it was a slam dunk. Wasn't a big sale lost, but it taught me early on to never think it's in the bag.

I've seen too many recruits announced on forums as a "done deal", only to have them slip through AU's fingers.

I will do cartwheels through my house if Stidham signs...and break my neck doing so...but NOT until that signature is done.

I don't know that there is reporting back being done. From the time info actually occurs to getting to sources to getting to reporters to getting to readers often takes hours if not a few days and that's with the good reporters. This very well could have been info sources got last night.

So we have no clue what event triggered "matter of time."  Interesting.

Coaches don't talk with recruiting reporters often. It's the people closely connected to the program who talk to them annonymously.

Makes sense, but reporting back during the visit seems premature.

Just me because I'm in sales...it's typically bad karma to report back to camp the big sale is a "matter of time" or "done deal."

And you know if we're getting this feedback, so is the Stidham camp, and so is the Kendal camp, which makes me uneasy.

To sum up..basically if Briles gets a power 5 job, it's more than likely Stidham goes to the school that hires him. But if he does not it means he is more than likely to end up at Auburn, unless his perceived favorite school TAMU decides they want him. So what level of impact does Gus and Rhett really have if the basis of his decision rests primarily on where Briles ends up? And as far as we can tell Auburn does not have an on-field position for him. So outside of the kid just liking Auburn more what really are the odds he would come here without a Briles in hand as well..

IMO, Gus and Lashlee are continuing to sell him guarantees for 2017, unlike Kendal, who has none at this point.

Gus/Lashlee can sell him on playing for a legit chance at titles. Right now, Kendal can't.

IMO, that's what they're focusing on with the visit today.
