why not talk cook into bankrolling the best of the best for us? unless it has changed he has way more moeny than mr rane.

Guys like Cook aren’t going to bankroll AU. It’s pretty much against where they work and what they do. The Tom Cooks give and have buildings named after them. They don’t fund buying players with NIL.

    Jimmy freakin' Rayne.

If we're gonna' go, why not go big?  Just turn the whole dadgum thing over to him, I would assume he'd pea his size 60" pants to take it.

As AD? The dude runs a mult 100 million dollar company. Jimmy isn’t the boogie man he’s made to be.

I’m not talking about you . I meant CBP. If this guy’s mindset is truly like that , this seems more extreme than the last guy.

If CBP is Bruce, I’m told he is untouchable. His blessing is given for all decisions in the AD right now.

Well yeah. Who would that be besides, you know, not McGlynn? I assume McKenna? Give me her or even Randy Campbell.

What's frustrating is that our NIL situation was seemingly improving.

I read somewhere that the interim AD cannot be made full time AD. Hopefully that's true. Also that Bruce likes McGlynn. We'll see how that changes if he can no longer recruit because McGlynn refuses to let us put up the $.

How long is the search for a full timer expected to take? Because we might as well just guarantee Harsin a third year (or promote Caddy if he leaves voluntarily), really don't want McG making that choice.

Also, you say that people better "wake up and start paying attention." If you're referring to fans, what can we realistically do, boycott?

That is the big question? Don’t know.

I think you are going to quickly find out people positions change based on who they like and who they are comfortable with. We see it all the time on this forum.

I don’t dislike Rich at all. But his ways are outdated. He wants to be the model by which programs run according to the NCAA. He’s got way too much influence from a position that is there to keep colleges out of trouble. Advise.

Robert’s might have a muzzle on him now? It does seem Bruce did give the blessing to do this short term. Which is good to hear.

I’m for anyone who will combat the bama’s and uga ‘s. Help. Raise cash. If you play in the grey area, make it right like all other compliance departments do. Don’t bend over for the NCAA like Rich has since he has been here. You help the coaches navigate not hamper.

McGynn had all of Auburn's ducks in order or else we'd have been skewered in the Cam Newton fiasco. He does deserve credit for that. However, I don't think that makes him a desirable pick to be Athletic Director, interim or otherwise. In this day and time when the NCAA is a toothless ghost of what it once was a compliance guy is pretty much useless. He'll probably do more harm than good.

Wrong, wrong wrong wrong. I can tell you with 100% fact certain that is incorrect. Biggest myth in AU history. Sure he helped navigate AU with the NCAA but he didn't keep AU from getting skewered. Rich knew AU did nothing wrong but still wanted to sit Cam for the uga game to appease the NCAA. Absolute madness.

Question for someone in the know. What's Mcglynns relationship with the shot calling boosters? IF a change was made. I can't see Mcglynn doing it. Wouldn't it make sense to have a permanent AD on board first? Unless the board already has a " yes" man lined up to be the AD..... If that is the case, and a change we're made...... expect someone like Champ to be named coach

Will isn't going to come no where near AU with Rich in charge of the AD. No coach worth the damn will. People have no idea how many problems Rich has caused over the years. I'm talking about things that aren't even illegal. Then the asshat gets all the credit for Cam and he did everything in his power to sit Cam before the uga game. Jay made the call to play Cam.

People better wake up and start paying attention if they want to have competitive football and yes basketball teams.

Like a good chunk of us, I’ve been displeased with a lot of what’s happened within the program the last 9 months. And there are still a lot of issues that need fixing.

However, I’m checking all negativity at the door with the arrival of August. I’m excited for this team. I like what I’m seeing and hearing from practice.

Everything decision in life is a cost/reward calculation. The culture rebuild was painful. But now that we’re here, I DO think it’s going to result in our team playing above the sum of their parts. I am definitely excited to see how the buy-in and cohesion translates to the field.

It’s going to be a tough schedule to navigate. But there’s definitely a chance for some signature Auburn magic this year. Can’t wait for Mercer and to see what this team can do.

Here’s to 2022 being a classic Auburn-out-of-Nowhere year. WDE Auburn family. Go get em CBH!

Let's hope one of the QB's step up. Right now, :OnTheCan:. Scrim this Saturday is huge for the QB's.

Right, I mentioned UGA.  IDK what issues, but we're not better than UGA/Bama's leftovers.

Be interesting to see how he does at PSU

I do believe that he got upset with AU because they didn't call him on the first day of the contact period a couple weeks ago. Thing is, AU did call. Then he goes something like this, well you should have called me multiple times till I answered. Stuff like this to everyone. When Kigby stops putting up with your crap, you know the kid has some serious baggage.

    Tomarrion Parker to PSU.

Sucks we couldn't ever get back into it with him, even after UGA stopped recruiting him.  Getting 1 of 3 seems like a loss

uga and bama passed on him. Seems to be some "issues" with him.

Seems like whether we have a good summer or not it's all coming down to this game. I'm an optimist, but man it's tough right now. I feel pretty good at our skill position recruiting on offense and LB and CB on D, but losing faith in OL, DL, and EDGE. And those are the three positions we need a really good haul in

Going to come down to QB play for AU. Calvada will be the key IMO.

You might want to check in with them again on that one - this just happened. Seems very unlikely to me that someone that we're a "legit contender" for would cancel his planned visit to Big Cat Weekend. Big Cat weekend isn't till the end of July. Again, he was supposed to visit again this Friday and he cancelled that visit too.

This is between Georgia, and instate UNC (NIL money).

No need to get upset with me. I do my part here in South Alabama.

We have an “in” here so I’m going to take a wait and see with this one.

    At Georgia, sadly.

Somewhat related the staff wants to take five defensive linemen not including edge rushers. Which makes the number of visitors and offers to defensive linemen make sense. This position feels like a domino effect to me. Once some kids start committing things should pick up rapidly. A lot of kids are looking at Georgia but they can only take so many.

It's a deep DL class. I could legitimately see us landing four 4* DL not counting edge rushers.

We in this one. Not saying we get him. But AU is a legit contender.

Looking at the total picture I am not putting to much stock into it because there were some that chose to come back and possibly could have been drafted. I will wait for next year because thats when alot of the guys have no choice but to move on and let’s see what happens

They won’t go higher than the 4th round. Not hating on them but it is what it is. Why they went back. Gus sucks and sucked.

Also interesting that Big Kat, Truesdell, and Newkirk went undrafted as well. Player development over the past few seasons has been bad. It’s hard to be a consistent winner and to sell a program with that kind of reputation.

Very unshocking. Most overrated player that played significant snaps at AU in the last 15 years.
