Would the basketball and/or football staff be concerned with him playing both sports?  That is a lot of wear and tear to be playing a physical sport all year with no rest time.  It would be different if it were baseball in my eyes.

He's playing both now and isn't having any problems and is elite at both. But he is going to play basketball at AU mainly. Football might come later.

Do you see him as a better bball prospect vs football prospect? Or more likely to stick with one over the other?

Looks like he is going to mainly focus on basketball. Have a chance to play both. They say he outperformed multiple 5* top 10 players on the summer circuit. Hard to pass up that NBA cash if can make it to the league.

  3. Jarquez Hunter

    Keith Warren
    Neshoba Central Lake Cormorant

Hunter has been hyped up by fans over the offseason because of his pure athleticism. Some fans were even predicting him to finish second on the team in rushing yards even though Shaun Shivers has the RB no. 2 spot locked up. He wasn't mentioned by Harsin at all.

Calling Hunter a loser in this scrim? He didn't even dress out and play. It's the first scrim of the season for Heavens sake. Don't think I've ever heard of a team having a good first scrim. That isn't what first scrims are about anyways. Lord have mercy.

'We're going to kill people with our speed,' Colby Wooden predicts Auburn's pass rush to be 'dangerous'

    1-2 minutes

Auburn’s pass rush seemed to have had trouble putting pressure on the quarterback in 2020. Auburn’s pressure rate during opponent pass plays was 17.2%, which was 10th in the SEC (via Secstatcat).

Auburn brought in quite a few transfers to try and bolster a defensive line that was also giving up 5.1 yards per rush attempt in 2020, their worst mark in SEC play in the last four seasons.

Auburn defensive lineman Colby Wooden spoke to the media on Saturday. He had very high praise for his fellow defensive lineman.

We’re going to be dangerous this year. With TD Moultry and Derick Hall, they’ll be speedsters off the edge. Me, Marcus (Harris), and Tony (Fair) will be up the middle. We’ll be dangerous. And the new transfer Eku (Leota) too. He’s surprised me too. He’s a very good pass rusher as well. We’re going to kill a lot of people with our speed, as well as our techniques.

They are going to have to "show us". Damn sure couldn't the last few years.

Also too you'd be very foolish to think she just randomly said that and her son doesn't even play QB.......she's saying stuff that she has heard players say.

The point here is the locker room was so divided. Toxic. Zero leadership from anyone. No one. The HC, the DC, the OC. The position coaches. The seniors. No one. Had assistant coaches dogging the HC. You had assistant  coaches encouraging this. Fanning the flames.

As far as Nix, Gatewood and Willis. Under Gus, Nix was the best QB at the time. But that’s all on Gus not having any capacity to coach QB’s. Gatewood was the clear #2 or even #1 but Willis wasn’t even a option.

I've never been as big as a fool as you were when you said Big Cat wouldn't sign with Auburn, two hours before he signed with Auburn. Then there was your "the whole defensive staff is going to be fired tomorrow" debacle, followed two days later by the "whole defensive staff is walking off the job tomorrow" double down. It took you three years to come up with some feeble excuse for passing that bad information.

Had I known how mad you get when people point out the false info you pass on, I'd have kept a record. It would be pretty long by now.

Lol. Get mad when people point out I've been wrong? Since when? No excuse on the defensive staff stuff. It is what was said by Steele to a couple of us in Mobile. I don't care if you think it's true or not. Big Cat? Wow, huge miss by me. Not sure how I will recover from being wrong on that one.

You are a bitter fool. Who was wrong on almost 90% of the stuff you spew here. The LB situation. The absurd OL number / recruiting stuff. Gus. Gus's offense. I could go on and on.  I really don't have to do point any of this out, most on the board know this just with you going on and on about this.

The OL and numbers thing you still are trying to argue is so of the dumbest stuff ever brought up here. Legit clown show. You are so laughed at, I'm embarrassed for you.

Sorry WDE i'm not trying to call you out here. I love the info you bring to the site and when i see your name i click to see what was said. But unless Twill has some type of learning disability and was literally told every move to make during his playing career then i just can't fathom how he could not understand the fundamentals of playing football.

It happened. All I can tell you. We will get to see how good he is this year, T-Will.

We have already heard crap talking from a player on this Team with Tony Fair talking about Bama and Bo basically double down. So not sure what Harsin is or not allowing.

Both were asked directly about bama. All Bo said is AU isn't scared to play bama when asked that question, directly about bama. Neither went out of their way to say anything negative about bama. Lot different than Big Cat.

Careful taking message board fodder as facts. I'm a big t-will fan from his playing days through his coaching days at AU. But even if i wasn't....you think an all SEC LB who played in the NFL doesn't understand the fundamentals of playing defense? I for sure wasn't there for the interview and it might not have gone well but its ridiculous to say Twill can't explain the fundamentals of a sport he has played and coached for multiple decades.

I can say with almost complete certain that what I said is true. I would not have put it here if it wasn't.

Wow how soon some forget. Gus won't know what the hell he has on his roster until October. Unlikely they will be a top tier offense out the gate based on his decade's work at AU.

If I'm wrong you can bring this back up and shame me

Gus's offense at AU the last couple of years was so awesome. Tell who the Gus nuthuggers still are.
