  1. Did we pass on him or did he pass on us?
  2. We better be able to run the ball and take pressure off of the defense. I understand that both McClain and McCreary have chosen to sit out the game so our defense won’t look anything like it did against bama. Good luck and War Eagle to us.
  3. He was a great fit at MSU but saw bigger things for himself at Fla. Don’t know what went wrong at Fla but he should have stayed at State.
  4. At least give him a few series. He can still play the rest of the games this year without losing a year of eligibility. Who knows. DD may be the spark we need. TJ didn’t look particularly great in his short time against MSU.
  5. If they can hit CMD can find them a place to play.
  6. I used to love to listen to Stabler doing color for Ala. After he got canned I never listened anymore. Snake was the best.
  7. I think he starts TJ but uses Bo if TJ struggles for above mentioned reasons. Hope they both do well and we can discuss this again next week. War Eagle. I also hope the receivers show out.
  8. Think about this: One reason that the number of African-American who go on to play college baseball is lower is because of travel ball. Travel ball is very expensive compared to football or basketball for high school kids. Therefore, only the more affluent families can afford to support their kids playing travel ball. Take a look at some of the junior colleges that are predominantly African-American. The majority of their baseball team is usually Caucasian, not so for their football and basketball teams. I haven’t done an in-depth study but there seems to be something to this. And, travel baseball (or softball) appears to be more fun for the parents too.
  9. As I recall, Stephen Davis seemed to get tired of running in the rain. It was a truly miserable day.
  10. Well he had a couple of good years.
  11. I was a student there at the time and he endured a lot at Auburn. We’ve come a very long way since then but many still don’t want to acknowledge that fact. He was a trailblazer when it wasn’t easy. God Bless You Dr Franklin. RIP.
  12. I think DD gets the whole 2nd half much like Finley did Saturday. It’s hard to evaluate a QB when you don’t let him play several series in a row. My assumption at this point is that there is very little separation between Finley and DD and the staff would like to see a clear number2.
  13. I heard that she is also an excellent cook and can make her own clothes.
  14. I'm good at $5. $25 seems a little steep. Thanks for the info. I'll keep an eye out for it.
  15. I believe James Joseph was the RB called "Bo Peep". They called Bostic "Bosco". At least the other players did. My favorite James Bostic run was the one in the second half of the Iron Bowl that sealed the deal. He shifted into another gear and simply outran the Bama secondary. He got drafted by the Rams who had Jerome Bettis at RB. That was most unfortunate for Bostic.
  16. He may look a little like Braden but nobody is as strong as Braden Smith.
  17. Since this thread started out being about Kameron Brown, I thought I'd go back to that subject. I'm all for offering him a scholarship. If he is anything like his brother, Derrick, he'll be an asset to our program. I'll take DB's opinion that his brother is a baller and give him a shot. What's to lose? It's not like we have this great record of success with our picks each year anyway. I hope Kameron commits to Auburn and that the Brown brothers get to play a year of football together for us.
  18. Maybe he wants to see what Stidham is going to do. Or maybe he just wants to wait until Feb to see how recruiting and possible coaching changes might effect his schools of choice. Or maybe he just likes the added attention for another month. Obviously the early signing period hasn't taken all the drama out of recruiting.
  19. Don't get me wrong for I think we have an above average OL but having an RB like KJ who makes a lot of tough yards after initial contact makes the OL look elite.
  20. Me too. With a 35 of lead at the half why not let JF111 run some zone read (not just the handoff version) and mix in some short passes. With our D there wouldn't have been much of a threat of losing and we would have gained a lot of new information (as Gus would say). I saw it as a wasted opportunity and that was my only disappointment in the game.
