We just played against the best QB in the SEC. The D-line actually didn't do that bad a job he just gets rid of the ball very quickly and very accurately. Missed tackles was a problem but Kelley being so accurate on back shoulder throws when we actually had solid coverage was almost surreal. This was 1st time D wasn't great but I think Kelley and Ole Miss game plan had an awful lot to do with it. I think you will see the D rebound well from this game and become even better.

I thought a very good write up. The difference in the second half and first half was partly coaching and partly player execution. While we were basically a run on 1st down team in first half we mixed in enough passes on 1st and 2nd down to keep MSU honest in second half we basically quit throwing on 1st down. Add that to a couple of holding penalties and illegal alignments the O stalled in second half. I agree we need to keep the pressure on in second half but we also need to work other players in which can lead to some of the execution issues it is a balancing act.

I would like to allow kids to transfer at end of Freshmen year if Head coach, their position coach leaves, or their coordinator leaves (if Defensive player if D coordinator leaves if Offensive Player if O coordinator leaves). No strings attached any school and no 1 year sitting. Won't happen but a kid coming out of HS should realistically expect to have same coaches for at least 2 years.

I like the fact that we are seeing improvement on the O side of the ball from game to game. With continued improvement on O, a few more turnovers and scoring TD's in red zone and we have the potential to be a good team. Now it is time to start a small win streak La -Monroe - chance to fine tune Offense and get a little confidence and momentum 3-2 Auburn Record Miss. State - Has not been playing well but came up Mass. - it is an away game but we should be able to beat them. 4-2 Auburn Record Arky - Another beatable SEC West Team playing at home we should keep Momentum going. 5-2 Auburn record Ole Miss. - Dr and Jekyl Team - Play great then fall put it all together last week. - Real test for D and for O Away game. I think we can win but this is a tossup 6-2 Auburn Record Vandy - We should win good D no O for Vandy. 7-2 Auburn Record Georgia - Good record but suspect team - We can win. 8-2 Auburn Record Alabama A&M - Tune-up for the real game. 9-2 Auburn Record Bama - Good team but not a great Bama team (beatable). -If we keep improving and win out going into Tuscaloosa we can win this game. If we are 9-2 going into this game we win. Auburn 10-2 Record

The D-Line is winning many individual battles but then they over commit and don't get the sack or Tackle for loss. Multiple times we should have had the sack with just the D-line but because of lack of containment and because of Knights ability to make people miss the D-line didn't quite get the job done. A few of the big plays happened after Knight was able to turn a sack into a big gain. Just need to contain better. O is a different matter. Trick plays won't work if you can't block up front. Obviously no scouting of A&M defense before the game to think a pulling guard could get to one of the fasted DE's in the SEC was dumb and to do it twice and expect to get a different result was dumb at best. As far deeper passes that requires time. The interior of our line does a pretty good job but our tackles are over matched when pass blocking. JF3 is not the solution as his limited passing abilities will allow teams to plan to stop his runs. There is to much reliance on trickery and not enough reliance on football fundamentals on offense. Gus O works when he has a great O-line which we had for both CAM and Nick. We have lost 3 tackles to NFL Robinson, Coleman and Young and the replacements work hard but they are not the same and that is why the O is not working. On the pulling guard play since we don't have a TE on that side have tackle do quick hit on DE before blocking down on the double team that would allow Braden to get there. A minor adjustment I have seen other teams do. We keep repeating same thing without even making minor adjustments.

Announcers had a point about using tall receivers in end Zone. a couple of the big freshman.

I have no idea what Gus is doing. I don't think he does either.

Another good defensive stand

I am turning 65 this year but have quit drinking for next couple of months trying to get in better shape as I am going to play in an old Boys Rugby Tourney in October in New Orleans and then hit the Bourbon street bars to celebrate my last game. If this game doesn't change I may have to start drinking tonight.

Pettway or Kerryon doesn't matter if you have not committed to running the ball.

Need to try James or Horton at RT. Also need to run the ball.

DB's have been in good position The back shoulder throw is almost impossible to stop. Need more pressure on Watson so that throw is not in perfect position.

As bad as O has played we are doing great to only be down by 7.

It doesn't matter who is the QB if there is no blocking

JJ has played well. The D-Line was on him as fast as he got the ball.

Defense is playing great against a high powered offense. We need an offense that scores a TD on a long drive it is time for the O-line to step up and play.

JJ has learned on that last throw it was to high but it was high and away so defender had no play on it. Then we get the FG. So far JJ is impressing me.

O-line is getting beat. We need a dominant O-line to have a chance and we don't have it so far.

I have been a Gus defender but he has completely gotten away from our power running game. He is not helping the QB's at all.
