I would commit to AU because, regardless of what the fans on this and other boards are thinking and posting, this coaching staff has proven they can coach, develop, and win. Sure Harsin came for a smaller school as did some of his assistants, but Mason and Bobo are proven coordinators. They have assembled a group of assistants (including off field analysts) that are hungry to win and to prove themselves worthy of the jobs they have been given. But if all I did was pay attention to all the negative Nancy's on message boards I'd go elsewhere.

In years past they could not get the 4 and 5 star recruits mainly because they refused to lower their academic requirements. Pretty much the same today. The powers that be at Vandy have always been extremely proud of their standing in academia and would rather have that than football wins. They could be competitive in other sports (basketball and baseball) because they could find a handful of players that could compete in those sports, but because of the number of football scholarships needed they just can't be competitive.

Agree with everything you said, but the Gus reference, as it pertains to Bo, is (hopefully) not going to happen with any of our recruits. All of Gus' comments about Bo leading us to championships, etc, was way over the top. Gus spent so much time trying to build Bo's confidence through accolades & praise rather than developing him to be the QB he has the ability to be. That's what a high school coach would do (no disrespect meant to any high school coach out there).

My take is this. Our coaching staff, from Harsin down to the analysts who are not on the field, know one thing for sure. They were hired to the hardest coaching job in all of sports to do one thing. Win, and do it sooner rather than later. The football scholarships at a school like Auburn are more valuable than gold, in that you can't waste one. Doesn't matter if it's the son of Bobo, Allen Greene, Jimmy Rane, Jay Gouge or Bruce Pearl. They are not going to waste one to appease anyone. If they did not think young Bobo doesn't REALLY deserve the scholly they would not offer.

Said he expects Auburn to soon sign their best wide receiver (someone who is not yet in the transfer portal) to sign soon. Even went so far to say this receiver would lead the team in receptions next year. Would not say who his is or how he got his info but it sounds good for AU if true.

Birmingham radio (WJOX) is saying bama has offered and "could" become a serious threat to gain his signature.

A true freshman and LSU sucked. And too many of their players just didn't give a crap. The kid has potential and we would be lucky to get him.

In a situation like Brooks is going through, is there a way the SEC office can get involved and settle it? This is greater than a kid changing his mind about a school choice. TN lost it's coaches who recruiter Brooks, and is apparently facing some stiff penalties for their recruiting violations.

Last week on WJOX, one of the hosts that is on with Cole Cubelic said he had personally talked to the coach I mentioned and this is what he was told by the coach. This was in the same segment where they interviewed the Oxford coach about Roc Taylor's situation. Just passing on the information.

It's been reported by a high school coach that knows Brooks well that Brooks cannot get anyone from TN to take his calls. He has tried numerous times but no one answers.

It just takes the right person to turn around a QB. Jason Campbell had the perfect one in Al Borges, Hopefully Bo can have the same outcomes with the new coach.

Agree. The next 2 games will determine our recruiting outcome, especially A&M. Kids are impressionable and if we look good as signing day approaches it will have a big effect on their decision.

Not really. He's an 18 year old kid being pressured by 50 and 60 year old professional men salesman to make a decision that will effect the rest of his life. He has to do what he feels is best for him and his future. Better for him to notify the coaches now rather than signing day like George Pickens did. Plus Auburn has been on the good side of kids changing their minds to sign with us many times. Feel the same about them not being men of their word?

I'm pretty sure Cam can foot the bill.😁
