  1. Hasn't he been to AU many times on unofficial visits? Is he taking his officials to Clemson, Georgia, etc? He has only 1 official to each school including Auburn and I assume he will take it for the Iron Bowl? Can anyone answer these questions please?
  2. Rumor is it will come down to Georgia or Texas.
  3. Would have been a hell of a good tight end. 😀 Probably would have made it in the NFL instead of being a high school coach all his life.
  4. LSU will hire a good coach. Lincoln Riley and Brian Kelly are rumored to be at the top of the list. Hell, they are paying their Women's Basketball coach $3 Mil per year. I bet the next football hire will be at least $8.5 - $10 Mil.
  5. If he goes to Saban it will not be as an on-field coach. Maybe an analyst like Butch Jones. Work for 4 or 5 years and then get a job as a coach somewhere. From what I hear from relatives who live in La, there is a bunch of off field stuff that hasn't come out yet.
  6. With all his off the field baggage, if he gets canned he will not be hired at any major school for at least a few years until things cool down.
  7. It's not over. I was around when we hired Pat Dye. There were other coaches available who were not interested in the job because of their being afraid to compete against Bear Bryant. Dye was not and went toe to toe with Bryant and bama. Harsin is showing me the same sense of grit, not being afraid of Saban. He has his own process and it's going to take some time. He could have stayed in Boise or held out for a Pac 12 job, but he came to AU not because of the $$$, but the opportunity to compete in the best conference against the best coaches. It's not always about the $$$. Hell, when you make $5 million or more you can't spend it all anyway. And AU will never be the school to break the bank to get a coach. It's just not in our DNA.
  8. Please name me and ELITE coach who would come to us. Hell, there's only a hand full of ELITE coaches out there, and IMO, no amount of $$$ would get them to AU.
  9. The kid is like many in Alabama....whole family is bama thru and thru. Has nothing to do with Harsin or his staff.
  10. Ya think Lane Kiffin is licking his chops after last week's performance? Probably thinks they can throw for 600 yards.
  11. I have Charter/Spectrum service and the audio kept going in and out during the entire game. Also was happening in the Clemson/GT game earlier. All 3 of my TV's had same problem. Anyone else have the same? After the game local TV was fine. Thanks!
  12. That's the key. I'm closely watching TD Moultry the rest of the year. There was never any doubt he has the ability to be good/great, but for some reason he never performed to the level all expected. Perhaps Mason/Harsin can make him a complete player both physically and mentally.
  13. Never underestimate Mario Cristobal as a recruiter and Phil Knight as a potential NIL force.
  14. What does he mean by being "re-offered"? Did we offer and then pull it?
  15. She will probably earn more than any other college athlete of any sport! I can visualize all the big consumer product companies trying to sign her (under Armor since we are a UA school, Kelloggs, Hershey, and many others). Hell, I bet she could even sell some 2 X 4's for Yella Fella.😀
  16. I think you are correct about Hairsin, but how to you think Harsin will handle things?😁
  17. It's fun when you win. When you lose, not so much!
  18. Sure bama can afford to take a risk at any position, but based on our recruiting results to date, it looks like we're taking risk after risk at other positions where we are not in such dire needs as we are on the OLine. If there is any position where we need warm bodies it's the OLIne.
  19. In Saban's interview, his statement was "this shows how valuable the Alabama brand is". And I can't disagree with him. Just another bullet in his arsenal for recruiting.
  20. Saban announced today that Bryce Young, the projected starting QB, has already signed NIL deals in excess of $1 million. The kid has not started a game yet but the sponsors have lined up based on his expected season(s). Just another advantage bama has because of their REC, rabid fan base, and wealthy boosters who are willing to spend their $$$ to win at all cost.
  21. Not speaking for the mods. Just myself. It's frustrating as hell when each and every thread has the same person or persons in a pissing contest with someone. (Call it a debate if you will, but it's a pissing contest IMO). And it's not just one post and let it go, it goes on and on and on. Some (and probably most) come to the recruiting board to gather information on recruits, not to read personal opinions about whether Gus was good or great or deserved to be fired. That has nothing to do with recruiting. Take that stuff to the football board.
  22. Saban is not concerned with his opponents and the NIL they would offer. Bama has always operated on the "anything you can do we can do better" system. This is just another advantage bama will have with their network of Red Elephant Club boosters.
  23. He was a great OC until the rest of the world caught on to his game plans. He was too stubborn (or just plain unable) to change with the times. When the fans in the stands are calling the play that is about to be run then you know your in trouble.
