Hate to see it, but, he was probably looking at another season as backup PG. We do need to upgrade at the PG position. Need someone who can go and score when we need them to. Loved watching Tre but we will likely upgrade. Only thing I hate about NIL and the transfer portal (mostly football on this point) is that you used to be able to follow a guy's recruitment from high school and then see them develop their game in college. Now you're lucky if a guy you brought in even stays around long enough to remember their name (mostly football because I couldn't tell you who is or who isn't on the team now).

What? Lol. Broome is an All-American. J Will was All-SEC and a 5th year senior. D Jones was the number one scorer in his league. CBM was the 6th man of the year in the Mountain West Conference… and the rest of our team was mostly upperclassmen and none of them are scrubs… Credit for just us getting there? No sir!

I think they run about 8 deep...I think we would have been fine 3-5, but 1-2 would be a struggle, especially at the 1.

Good news. Learning from his mistakes. Pettiford can score the rock in a lot of different ways. He kind of reminds me of Wade Taylor IV from A&M. Now THAT young man can score. I think Bruce played Aden at the PG out of necessity after not going to grab another PG in the portal after Wendell left. Maybe he feels like Aden can grow into the PG position (Tre did get better from year 1 to 2), but he still needs to go get another PG...

No thanks! Let’s not turn the bball program into the football program. Go get the best available coach you can. Honestly, I feel like Steven should leave and go coach on his own for a few years. Might do him some good to get out from under his Dad’s shadow so he can take over a program like Auburn’s one day. You have to start somewhere, I just don’t want it to be here!

Denver at the 3 doesn’t make any sense and he would be a liability on defense from that position. Yeah he can get to the rim sometimes but he’s not an athletic wing that you would typically want at that position. You would run Jakhi at the 3 behind Chad Baker. Chaney at the 4 and go get a big at the 5. We need a backup 4 and a backup 5 if Cardwell leaves.

I don't remember these things being said about Tre. Tre certainly got better from Freshman to Sophomore year but you can't really compare him and Aden. Tre performed reasonably well as a Freshman. Aden? Not so much... Denver needs to be a SG, not a some-timey PG. Bruce already tried that out of desperation and it never really stuck. Bruce just needs to go get an older PG in the portal or just let Tahaad and Tre run the point. Aden can play more SG and switch off on defense.

Interesting interview with Steven Pearl. He talks about how much Chad cried, etc. and apologized to his teammates. We all made dumb mistakes when we were younger. We need players who can be chippy. Yeah, he shouldn't have done it but let's move on and hopefully he can too and come back to be a huge contributor next season.
