  1. We're on the same page. Just can't figure the loss of offensive IQ regardless of who the QB was. He didn't have that read option guy everywhere and adjusted. Again. What happened?
  2. That, with the true read option and a true hurry up pace all contributed to our prior success. Gone like a fart in the wind. SMH. What happened?
  3. Last season through 3 games, 44.8 percent of Auburn's impact plays came on the ground. This season it is down to 27.3 percent. Not really a surprise. As the offensive mindset has become more and more narrow. The predictability of where Pettway is going is so obvious to the entire stadium, this stat surprises me the most. I'm amazed it is that high!
  4. I guess that is scored a fielders choice. Seems it should be some sort of error.
  5. Oops!! HOpe that non turned DP doesn't come back to haunt us.
  6. He has had good position plenty this year and even been wide open. But, Our other players have not gotten him the ball as much I would have hoped down low. He also showed some stone hands on receiving passes in traffic. Will be much better next year after a year of working together.
  7. We've got an awesome O. If we could just play a little D we'd go places......,, Wait. This sounds familiar. Am I in the football thread?
  8. Would love to get to 20 wins this year. It's still possible.
  9. So it appears the TE will still not be utilized with the new OC. Why would any prospective TE have interest in AU with the intent of being a pass catcher? Wonder how/if the stud Juco TE will be utilized?
  10. Grew up a little bit today. Hopefully this is the springboard we'll need to continue to improve.
  11. We seem to continue to play up or down to our opponent and have struggled to keep scoring guards in check. Maybe this is the game we grow up and finally figure out we belong here and can play with anybody. Time to play to our potential and not playing to someone else's. OBTW: Last I looked BC giving UNC a run today. Kind of makes that loss a little less painful.
  12. I disagree. He is walking in to an incredible situation. Number one running back in SEC returning. Stud QB with previously highest passing efficiency as a likely back up and an incredible set of young, aggressive receivers. The passing game would appear to be a blank page to begin coaching from the floor up. What's not to be pumped about? We have a new braintrust to look forward to developing this evolving O.
  13. What's with all the negativity? Got a studly running game. Now getting a studly passing game and a coach to attract QB's for development. I'm looking forward to seeing these two Offensive philosophies morphed together. How can anyone be pessimistic until there are on field reasons to be?
  14. Appears that we can play up to the likes of UK or play down to the likes of OM or Mercer. Now would be a good time to show some growth and maturity and just take care of business.
  15. These seem like basic skills that should be ingrained by the time any of these top notch Bball players get to high school, much less college. Is this an across the board issue happening at every school? Do we just recruit players who can't communicate? I don't understand not knowing how to call a switch or deciding to go above or below a pick at this level or ability or inability to swap back and forth from zone to man on D? These are elite level athletes who have done this a long time. What am I missing? Appreciate your insight and vigilance explaining the goings ons on the hard court JwgreDeux
  16. I appreciate the response, but that does not answer the question. The receiver had lept into the air and was descending while D Davis is on the ground coming up. From what I gleaned in these pages, the tackler is to put his head in front of the ball handler to make a more solid contact and attempt to dislodge the ball. The angle of contact was such that I don't think you can make that play without having the head stuck in his chest. Now assuming that he did not have opportunity to pull up, and the call was not late contact, how is he supposed to make that hit?
  17. It appeared to me that due to the angle of the collision, it made that hit pretty much impossible to make without having your head in his chest. I thought he lead with his shoulder as well as could be expected. So, what is the coaching staff telling D Davis to do differently?
  18. Again, the drop count should play into this somewhere. I can think of one drop yesterday.
  19. During the first seven games, Auburn's defense forced a "3 & out", 35% of the time. During the past two games, it has dropped to 5%. Says it all for our D the last two games.
