  1. He was recruited both ways out of high school as I remember.
  2. I didn't know that, actually. I'm as high on Nate as I've ever been on a receiver, though. He's got a special ability.
  3. Darius Slayton starting. I love it. Can't wait to see what he can do. Also....Nate Craig. Watch out!!!
  4. Also, @McLoofus I think Kerryon is kind of being slept on by most of the media. Hopefully that will change after this season.
  5. I'm expecting big things from him. He's definitely a guy who can turn something small into a long touchdown. We need more of that type of ability.
  6. I believe by the end of the season, our top receiver will be one of the freshman.
  7. Yeah I'm with you. If we can take away the run game, especially the big run plays I will feel much better about this game. Rest assured, if we were to try and "take away the pass first" they would gash us in the run game, and like you said allow Watson the breathing room to make whatever plays he wants.
  8. "We've really worked on the physicality of things, and we're starting to buy into that as a philosophy of who we are."
  9. So, basically we are LSU minus LF and some defensive depth. Got it.
  10. Live play-by-play over the PA? New to me. Nonetheless, I love this kid.
  11. I might need to eat some crow for assuming Johnson was a distant third in the qb battle
  12. I'm with you for what it's worth, which is about nothing haha. But War Eagle and Congratulations Devan!
  13. He'll end up being a 5* from what it looks like.
  14. I trust our coaches ability to evaluate running backs. They've been largely successful in recruiting that position. It is interesting to me to see the disparity in rankings from site to site though. I wonder what 247 doesn't like/see in him. Pure curiosity. I have zero reason to question our coaches at the RB position.
  15. I'm going to be most intrigued by our WR play. It doesn't matter who is playing quarterback (relatively speaking). We are going to need a couple of guys to emerge as big play makers on the outside. It could make a really, really big difference. I think about what someone like Calvin Ridley became for Jacob Coker. Our offense will look completely different when you have a guy or two who can turn a 10 yard hitch into a 60 yard touchdown. That ability was sorely lacking from our offense last year.
  16. Georgia's is pretty rough too
  17. I think I like ours the best, then Tennessee.
  18. Made a 24 on his ACT to btw. Good for him. That's a great score.
  19. I'm with you Cole Agreed. Fwiw, Cole, that is what I gathered from your initial comment on Kelly. Anybody want to project what Gatewood's measurables will be after his first summer at Auburn? Probably already discussed, and I really don't care. 6'3 200+ is already plenty big. Just throwing out something Gatewood-related to yap about until there's something concrete to discuss. I bet he can throw a football over that there mountain, by God.
  20. Agree completely CK was pretty good before he got to Ole Miss, he just got into some trouble at Clemson. But he did very well when he transferred to a Jr College. He does seem to be a hothead, though. Maybe without a stellar O line and very good receivers, some defense can inside his head and mess him up. Except they didn't have a stellar offensive line last year, and he will still have elite weapons on the outside this year... I would expect more or less the same from him this year, meaning SEC leading numbers. He has grown up a lot since being under Freeze.
  21. Agreed. Give me DeShaun all day every day over CK, a guy who consistently run & throws it well. Well, Deshaun is kind of considered the best QB in the nation. I think everyone would want that. Interesting enough, though, Both Chad and Deshaun were successfully recruited by Clemson. Both were picked #1 and #2, respectively in CBS early mock draft. That is pretty damn respectable. Yep. The only reason I brought up DW is because a goofy Rebs fan yesterday on Finebaum tried to say CK was as good of a runner, fast, & elusive as DW. Yeah that's goofy, alright. Watson edges Kelly in all of those categories, and makes it look easy.
  22. It's very interesting to see so many people who think Kelly is overhyped. I haven't been listening to much chatter outside of this board though, so maybe he is being overhyped in the media and elsewhere. Personally, I think he is one hell of a quarterback. Even absent Treadwell, he will have a full stable of weapons to throw to this year. I wouldn't expect him to drop off at all. If the sentiment is that he's the best quarterback in the country or right behind Watson, then I'd agree that's giving him too much credit. However, his transformation under Freeze has been remarkable.
  23. Didn't make it to the IB that year but I was at several games in JHS. People will never understand what those games were like. I still get goosebumps listening to a 6 year old DJ Khaled song. Went to more away games than home games that year (Miss. St., Ole Miss and Bama). Clemson was the only home game I made it too. Great, great game but I don't think Cam's real coming out party came until South Carolina. Wish I could have seen that game or Arkansas/Georgia/LSU. Still, I wouldnt trade the iron bowl for any of them. Watching the NCG from the parking lot in Glendale wasn't too bad either.
