  1. 8 teams, 5 P5 Champions (no poll), 3 at large (there are several ways to choose them). I also really liked the 10 game conference schedules last year and would like to see that incorporated. Since the 5 P5 Champs are the ones in, it's in the best interest of every conference team to have as much influence on that outcome as possible.
  2. Ahh, the "helping him out" part was a tongue in cheek comment so I used quotes to signify that, lol. It was a reference to those who had said it would be helping him out to play them. I suppose I could have highlighted it in yellow to further the point. With respect to the contract, I have been consistent since Dec., we signed the contract and we have to honor it.
  3. There is my original post. Where does it say Gus shouldn't get his money ? Where is the lack of cordiality towards Gus ? None of that is there. Where is the whining and stomping of feet ? Being of the opinion that AU playing UCF is a goofy idea isn't either of those. It is a goofy idea.
  4. Uhh no, it's a goofy idea. Why in the world would we want to do that ? AU is already "helping him out" to the tune of $20 million left on his buyout. I am more concerned with helping out Coach Harsin get his feet wet and getting off to a good start before he has to deal with this kind of silliness.
  5. Yes, definitely a shout out to @Paladinand @toddc. Thanks guys, you're doing a heck of a job too. War Eagle
  6. Ahh ok, well let's get those bad boys up on the stadium and make them official.
  7. Looks like things might have changed since then ? They have us down for 5 now (1913, 1957, 1983, 1993, 2010) on the football history page. Let's hope they are getting ready to add them to the stadium. https://auburntigers.com/sports/2018/6/11/sports-m-footbl-history-and-tradition-html.aspx
  8. Good and we should. 1983 Auburn: * Highest ranked team going into the bowls to win. #1 lost, #2 lost, #3 Auburn won. * Auburn had more #1 picks by AP selectors than any other team in the country. * Auburn was picked #1 by more polls (19), than any other team in the country. * Auburn chosen #1 by the NY Times poll.
  9. I think that's a good way to look at it. In the long term, the smart thing both for Auburn and him, is not to put too much on him too early. Let him absorb the offense at his own pace and give Bo a push, that's all good. But the last thing we want is to give him more than he can handle and ruin him for the future. If he learns the complete offense in '21 and then makes a big push to start in '22, that would be fine. More than that in '21 is gravy.
  10. @Zeek You REALLY do a fantastic job on these threads. They are chock full of solid info, all organized in one place, which allows us to easily and quickly keep up with what is going on. Thanks for all you do for the board, it is VERY much appreciated. War Eagle
  11. That's 12 really solid scholarship players right there. CBP will definitely enjoy coaching that group.
  12. Eason would love to get his hands on this guy. Could be the perfect coach for Evans. Thanks Todd
  13. Although there have been some, not many true freshmen RBs will get national attention. Tank is still just a sophomore this year but if he puts up some good numbers, say in the 1200-1500 yard range, he will start getting plenty of nationwide attention. One of the things that will help Tank get there is the fact that Worm added muscle and is running so well. We have 2 really tough RBs.
  14. Yeah, they likely doubled the number of plays from last year to at least 10. That can be pretty overwhelming right there, lol.
  15. AU responds to him, "Leverage, thy name is Worm".
  16. @ellitor It was already over E. The last 2 sentences of my post, 8 hours before yours and "the most recent" at that time, made it clear. It was over then and it's over now. You probably just missed it. I even gave you a wink in case you had. PM me if you want.
  17. @ellitor I already did....8 hours before your post.
  18. Let me address just your first two sentences because they are a microcosm of the rest of your lengthy post. Those sentences don't make any sense since the exact opposite is true. First, if I didn't want to post I wouldn't have. The truth is, I posted about it several times to you and was more than willing to "talk about it". Second, nobody "told you" to move on, if I had wanted to do that I would have and will. The truth is, I suggested "let's move on". You can do whatever you want. But there is a point where your discussions tend to become somewhat nonsensical, argumentative and redundant. That point was reached and it's time to move on. I intend to do just that.
  19. Cole, it's not an either or situation like you think it is. As I have stated in more ways than one, being for one side (colleges, coaches, students, fans, the rest of the players, more stability for college basketball) does not equate to being against the other (the few STAR players). Let me address 1 of the interested parties I mentioned, the fans, since you think they don't invest. The college students are fans, fans who invest both financially (student fees, tickets, travel) and emotionally for their teams. The other fans invest in travel, tickets and lodging to support their team. Still other fans pay cable fees and are responsible for the high ratings on TV that advertisers pay big money to the networks for access, that pay the rights fees to the NCAA, the conferences, schools, that provides the showcase for your STAR players. No fans and the whole thing collapses. Let's move on....
  20. The point ? TT and I were in agreement, both assumed you were talking about us when you made your earlier post when neither of us were blaming STAR players for leaving. That's the point. It's obvious what NBA farm team means. Some people think that's what it should be. You want a system tilted towards the few STAR players, the NBA and by necessity professional sports agents, over all other invested parties. I find that position strange and don't agree with it. I support a system that is tilted more towards the rest of the players on the team, the fans who do invest a lot in their teams, the coaches and the colleges that do the same. I think the 1 year rule hurts that. We don't agree and that's ok.
  21. Neither I or TT went after the players. The players aren't at fault for taking advantage of existing rules. Why shouldn't they ? Supporting more stability for college programs and fans does not mean less support for star players. Colleges do invest a lot, as do the fans, and the coaches who bust their butts to recruit. Then there are the other players on the team. They deserve support and more stability too. All of those entities should be able to enjoy their efforts for a couple years anyway. College teams aren't there to be NBA farm teams.
  22. That's true but at least 2 years would provide more stability for the program and for the fans that support their teams.
  23. We'll see. The universities and fans have some skin in the game too and their voice needs to be heard. As far as the better players are concerned, going directly from HS to the NBA should always be an option.
  24. Agreed, this 1 and done stuff is starting to grate on me. Colleges go through the expense of recruiting, housing, training, education and in return they should be able to have a little more stability. A 2 year rule makes more sense for the fans and university. Colleges are not there to be NBA farm teams.
