Think about how good that position would look had we decided to pull the trigger and give Monty Rice a commitable offer in the 2017 class. It’s crazy how much better our LB recruiting has gotten since T-Will became a full time position coach and not just an analyst. As it pertains to Simpson, I’d love to get him back in this class but not at the expense of not having a slot for a big-time DL or Buck.

Anything to worry about with him?

Unless I’m misremembering this- the main reason that Chiz wasn’t as interested in Sandberg the first time around was because we were in the middle of transitioning from the HUNH with Gus to a traditional pro-style attack with Loeffler. Sandberg was deemed to not fit that offensive system and we went all-in on Jeremy Johnson.

Disagree with you here for a couple reasons: We only have 3 scholarship QBs, remember there was a time we were planning on taking 2 QBs in the 2018 class. This kid was a stud in high school, and is a low risk high reward scholarship. I remember when many on the old Auburn Eagle board liked him far more than the 2013 QB we did sign, Jeremy Johnson. We’ve got a scholarship open, and it’s known that Stidham will leave after this season should we sign Sandberg it keeps our QB scholly number at 4. I see this as a no lose situation given the fact we only signed so few in February.

Not sure if there’s a need to create a thread on him but I have to ask is there any sort of mutual interest between 2019 OT Stacey Wilkins out of Arkansas? He’s a Rivals 250 4 star, and is uncommitted. Seems like there should be some sort of communication going on between our offensive staff and him.

This is a big time pick up. Need to develop a pipeline to Troup High because they’re going to be loaded for the next 4-5 years

Every year Tucker HS has 3-6 power 5 recruits. The program is the best in talent rich DeKalb county and not only puts kids into power 5 programs but FCS and D2 programs as well. Kids want to play there, when kids want to go to your school such as is the case here you can put rules than 98% of HS in the country wouldn't be able to. The purpose of having these kids commit early is so they can focus on their HS TEAM and not be kid a distraction to not only the team but their own performance as well. I wish more coaches would be like Bryan Lamar (who I know and respect) and not allow the recruiting process to affect the overall success of the program. Also, I coached against Harris last season when he was at Lovejoy HS and in an all-star game in December and I think he's a very talented kid that would look good on the Plains.

Quindarious Monday is the top DB prospect in GA this year imo. He's probably the top safety in the Southeast. He has the talent to be a 3 and out kid. I absolutely love that kids ability, and personality.

Bingo. Watching him yesterday was extremely refreshing for me. Dude is talented, loves the game, competes like hell, and carries himself very well. His film is outstanding and he seems like a good kid. We need to lock him down now before his stock skyrockets.

Was there watching live, one of the top 5 most physically impressive kids there yesterday. He's not going to be a 3 star long.
