  1. A legitimate downfield passing attack, oh and a tight end:)
  2. Ok, I'll give you that. Let's just say I'm a very interested observer.
  3. Going to be a big game for both teams for sure. Limit the LSU run game, and I like our chances. Am really interested to see if our O can perform well against what should be a pretty good defense. I expect to get LSU's best effort of the year. They are going to be trying to salvage their season with this game.
  4. Me too! Unfortunately I don't see us ever recruiting one. You have to actually throw to him first. On that note, I swear I would try utilize that big McLain kid in that slot.
  5. Me too. If I were a betting man, I would still bet on many inside zone runs.
  6. Thanks Coach, always enjoy your analysis. Hope all is well at home. I'm glad to know I'm not crazy in seeing the deficiencies in play, and coaching I'm seeing. Some of the sunshine pumpers on here have actually got me wondering if I'm the one who's nuts. All this talk from some in other threads about going 11-1, and being a top ten team is causing me to shake my head like my dog does when he comes out of the lake.
  7. Yeah, I was trying to imagine Sean on the sideline next week in street clothes, and running to the locker room to change.
  8. As far as I can remember we have pretty much been unprepared early in the season under Gus. At least the first game last year comes to mind. Seem to remember struggling with Washington State in 2013 as well. Seem to also remember him saying that he really didn't know what he had with Cam in 2010 until about game 3.
  9. Yeah, I thought about the traveling part myself. The explanation he gave was so absurd, I didn't even mention it.
  10. Your first sentence is kind of my point Mikey. Yes sir, you are right that he has had tremendous success at times, and set records in a very much evolved college football game. Teams these days are sething all time records nearly every week. I still hold out lots of hope for Gus, but am not going to be happy with an offense that cannot be effective unless they can overpower the opponent. We may wind up with a very good offense before the season is concluded. We still have some deficiencies in our approach I believe, and Stat so eloquently pointed out. If it doesn't produce however, I will lay the blame for that squarely on Gus. Not Chip, Herb Hand, not Jarrethe Stidham, and not the offensive line. The talent is there for Gus to produce an offensive product that strikes fear in every opponent that we play. We must be equally dangerous through the air as we are on the ground if we hope to be one of those elite teams that contend for the playoff most years. I say all this to emphasize my point, not to attempt to tell you anything you do not already know.
  11. Careful there bud. I got called out on another thread for questioning this very decision. Was told that if Stidham goes down that Gus would rescind the suspension of White during the game!
  12. I get that, and give credit where it is due. I am just recognizing trends. We were also playing a team we could dominate physically. Teams that we can line up, and dominate physically has not been our problem of late.
  13. Whatever dude. I'm a total pill because I have no faith in Malzahn. Tell me was I also a total pill in 97, 98 when I had total resentment for Terry Bowden? My allegiance is to Auburn University, not Gus Malzahn. I assure you.
  14. I guess I need to just shut up, and reserve judgment a few more weeks. I am just beyond frustrated with what I have seen on offense for nearly three years. We have way too much talent to keep seeing what we have been witnessing. Against a Sunbelt team, we should be able to play pitch and catch almost at will with our talent. I will shut up, and watch for now. I think it is obvious that I climbed off the Gus Bus a long time ago. I still have hopes, because we have recruited so well under him, and Steele has us playing outstanding defense. Many of us said ever since the season concluded last year that we could turn things around if Gus would make an offensive coordinator change, and let him run HIS offense. So far, I don't think that is the case.
  15. Just a question. I heard all spring, and fall about getting the running backs involved in the passing game. Did we have a running back catch a pass last night? I remember one failed attempt at the wheel route, but I mean dump offs to running backs that are very effective at slowing down an over aggressive pass rush. Any one remember any of those? Me neither.
  16. No offense to you sir, but I think I could have coached a Cam Newton led offense to a national championship. For that matter, I may have been able to do the same with Nick Marshall, Tre Mason, and Grey Robinson. After all, we won games in 2013 attempting less than double digit passes. That will most likely never be duplicated again in major college football.
  17. I think you're wrong friend. I think he hired Chip to be quiet about the fact that he is going to pay him very well to give the illusion some one else is running the offense besides Gus.
  18. If he runs anywhere in the 4.4- 4.6 range, I count me on his bus. A safety that has good coverage skills, and can bring the wood is exactly what we need. I personally love a guy that is a tweener between a linebacker, and a safety.
  19. PK: Carlson Punter: Terry Daniel. Honorable mention: David Beverly Kickoff Return: Thomas Bailey Punt Returner: Tie. Mike Fuller, Carnell Williams Kickoff Coverage: Tie. Craig Sanders, Aundray Bruce.
  20. Man, I loved to watch Brad Lester run with the ball. I was very surprised the year he went to the combine to find out he wasn't faster than he was. He was one of those that looked like he was faster than he was I guess. He seemed to always hit the hole 100mph.
  21. Hope we can seal the deal with this guy. He is what I like to call a glider, doesn't wow you with highlight reel moves, but subtly moves past you. Played against a guy like him years ago. You break down to tackle him, and all of a sudden he disappears. Don't think he has elite speed, but neither did Emmet Smith.
  22. MLB is a total joke. Anyone who spends their money to watch MLB is being stolen from. The guys you see on the major league diamonds are not necessarily the best baseball players in the country. MLB is much more about how much money the team invests in you when they draft you. I have first hand knowledge of this with a family member who is now in the independent league hall of fame, inducted with Pedro Guerrero, and could never crack a major league starting lineup. Had the general manager of the Braves actually tell him he was probably the best player in the organization, but it was " more complicated than that." A 6'4" 235, power hitter, who can steal you a base, and flirted with . 400 in his last season in the independent league. Anyway, rant over. I'll never spend a dime of my money to watch the farce that is professional baseball.
  23. I go along with you there. I also quit watching the NFL for a number of reasons, most of which is the lack of the running game. Unfortunately the game has changed in both college, and professional football in the last 25 years. Linemen allowed to hold on every play, and receivers getting away with pushing off has drastically changed the game. I believe it has been by design to a degree. Offense sells tickets I guess.
  24. Er, Does that number 7 for ASU have any eligibility left? Like to get that boy as a graduate transfer.
