I'm not defending the coach and i know it is easy for us to criticize from where we stand, however, i am sure he's doing what HE thinks is the best thing for HIS team.

Maybe if Stidham comes back, a little bit of him will rub off onto Gatewood. It would be awesome to have Stidham tutor Gatewood for a year before going Pro.

Where's Mikey in all this? Surely, he has an opinion about this guy. Looking forward to his analysis of the LB recruiting so far.

Good to see several receivers putting on some weight, should help with blocking and taking some hard hits.

The real question is: will this guy stay and change positions, if B. Nix comes in and beats him out for QB? Even if he slides down the depth chart and into another position, he can still make a great TE or WR.

So if we get Teague, then is it safe to say most on the board will be satisfied come February with our RB commits?

Good stuff, i have been wondering why the departure from the shifts and motions over the past couple of years? This does seem to aide the QB in the options it gives him, meaning this can really help Stidham with his experience in reading defenses.

Clemson should be pretty stacked at QB with their last two classes and the one they have committed this coming year. I don't see Nix going there just because of the very high level of competition. JMHO

With his size and length, what would be his best position to project him at?

I guess part of the question should be "will Willis mature and be ready faster than Woody?", considering some of the reports about his work in the classroom (aren't i right about that?) or was it something else? Maybe somebody who knows the inside can answer that.

2018 is a long way off, i wouldn't be surprised if CCL were to go after another QB that would better suit his style of play. Not saying Gatewood doesn't, its just that there are a lot of QBs out there that CCL will know more about and have his eyes on rather than Gatewood. Just don't be surprised if CCL focuses on another QB more than Gatewood, especially out west where he is more familiar with the QBs out there.

Gus has publicly declared he will turn over the offense and back off, if he fails to do that now, everyone will see that he is the problem and make the necessary adjustments at the end of the year. He will no longer have anything to hide behind, either this team floats with Gus or it sinks, only time will tell. It is up to us to be patient and give him a chance to correct his past mistakes and stand behind this team.

I looked at the games he called during his time at Southern Miss and ASU and his offense scored a lot of p[oints against some power 5 team defenses. That gives me a little relief that maybe he has an idea about how to call a game against average to good defenses.

It's time to allow fate to take it's course. All this hinges on whether Gus allows him too have control and not look over his shoulder. On the surface it seems like a good hire. Not sure if he is what we need to beat the best defenses in the country, but time will tell. and maybe he will evolve into something special.

I agree Lionheartkc, it is way too early to be worrying about Gatewood. If we get the right OC the Gatewood issue will take care of itself. I guess the thing we all are concerned with, is will Gus allow the new OC enough autonomy to develop a balanced offense?

E, if we miss on Solomon who is the back ups for that position?

I think Gus sees the potential in this guy, and frankly so do I. If he doesn't develop then a move is always possible. But Gus has been in on several quality guys, they just haven;t dropped our way. Gus understands that you must take a chance on guys from time to time. So let him recruit the way he wants and then give the guys a chance to develop. I'm sure he has a better perspective than any of us on this board anyway.
