Im not saying that isnt the role of an AD. What Im saying is that Green is a good, not overly experienced AD. He wouldve been successful at all but 3 SEC schools IMO (LSU, Aub, Tenn). What Auburn needed in this moment(s) was an experienced, well-established, and connected AD. Unfortunately, because of Auburn’s severe lack of leadership of the past decade no experienced well-established AD was going to come here. What we need is for our BOD to hire first a strong president (“Pay the man/woman”). Then we need to get some things in order- establish processes and rules that make it more difficult for politics to play a role and less impactful when they are. From there Auburn will be set up for success for years to come. We dont have that though, we’re still running everything on the back of a napkin and through phone calls. Its as if every direction we give is in the same vein as Lee’s direction at Gettysburg- “if practicable”. Leaves too much room for interpretation and thats exactly how some people want it.

I actually think its consistent. What I take from that is this: Greene is very much a capable AD but hes had a lot to deal with in his first big time stint. Big time decisions this early in the SEC? Thats tough. Not making excuses but he probably didnt want to be the guy to go ask for $25m from the people hes trying to get money from to get a football facility. Then you throw covid on top. Recipe for imposter syndrome. I still think he’ll be good he just needs to catch a few breaks.

Thats my thought as well. Pritchett is weird- just a couple of months ago he was looking at auburn and seemed to be leaning our way

Hey i see weve got some momentum on the trail this morning. Was looking at where we stand with a few OL and who we might not be recruiting hard. Was wondering if there was any chance we would call some of these kids and try to get them to come see us in the fall? Might be too late, but some of these guys dont have a stout top 5-10 and dont seem to lean one way or the other. 3* (.87) Nick Williams 6-5 300 OT (N. Augusta, SC) 4* (.89) Bryson Hurst 6-6 320 OT (Gautier, MS) (CB to MSST) 4* (.90) George Fitzpatrick 6-6 285 OT (Cherry Creek, CO) (offers from tOSU & OK) 4* (.95) Elijah Pritchett 6-6 280 OT (Columbus, GA) (Offers from Bama, UGA, low bama lean)

No not right at the moment, if i had offers I would look first at school/coach pedigree and second at roster. Harsin has a great pedigree but he hasnt done it in the SEC that would give me pause. Depending on my position I would likely commit somewhere else if I had to TODAY. That said, I would keep an eye on Auburn to see how they were playing this year

This is culture. Harsin is removing anyone and anything that doesnt jive with the culture he wants to create. Some of the kids may have been on the fence about whether they wanted to play for Harsin or not. If theyre still on the fence after giving them a chance to see how his team will operate, he’s making the decision for them.

The $92 includes the new tennis courts complex as well? the actual football facility is $61 plus prep work of $3-4. So when you compare that to clemsons $54 its much more in the ballpark

So i think this is the first real mistake this staff has made (thats public). You have a major position of need, you have a kid who would likely be extremely loyal should he commit, you get momentum from having a 4* OT commit, but you can still sell other kids in playing time by saying “hey look Shor is hurt, we’re hoping hes back in a year or so youre probably ahead of him” (I know a coach would likely never get that specific, but you get the point). Other than 1 recruiting spot- what did you have to lose? This is an easy win. Dont make it a glaring loss

The best coaches arent beggars. Kids can see through that. The best coaches are still honest with the kids about what its going to take for them to succeed at their school. Now, for Auburn, Harsin is different. I do think you had a more salesman approach to recruiting under the Gus regime. Harsin will be more of a coaches approach. Seeing who and what hes offered Harsin understands theirs a value in talent, but even those kids need coaching. Hes gone affer a few high level guys so far but hes also filled the current class out with quality players.

Mechanically it looks like he has some things to work on, he was also throwing it with good pace and accuracy despite those mechanics. Those type changes can always go both ways but bobo has shown the ability to work with QBs in the past. I like that hes bigger and stood in the pocket and delivered some while taking a hit

I know we want the 4/5 star guys and im glad Harsin and crew are targetting them. But im honestly relieved we’re going after guys like this. He doesnt have the stars yet but has the size and theyve obviously seen something they like on tape. Shows me that we’re actually scouting and not seeing what 247 is good or not
