I just don’t understand what any Gus defender is seeing. Why are they keeping this guy around? I rather lose with someone else.

I haven’t been this disinterested in Auburn Football since 2012. Gus is killing this program and is deterring players/fans from it. Can’t wait till he is gone and may stay away until then.

It’s telling that OLine recruits aren’t jumping to come here. They could start year one. That’s usually a pretty good push for them to come to our side.

Thank you! In some instances the “high road” isn’t meant to be taken. Auburn pushes that rhetoric too much imo. If they won’t give you respect then you’ve got to take it. In this instance Worm did just that with a two piece special. Loved it.

If it’s on the playground, the streets, or the football field, everyone has a right to stand up for themselves no matter what. I loved it. The whole “good ole boy” way of thinking only covers you so far. If you’ve got to sock somebody in the mouth because they are talking down on you, then do it. I wish the rest of the team had some fight like that, especially the O-Line. Y’all act like the guy came out and took a cheap shot at someone on the field or got into a behavioral issue off the field. He was standing up for himself just like you all would. Get off your high horses and get over yourselves. That “Auburn way” s*** gets old sometimes. Edit to clarify that I don’t say that because Momma Worm is on the board. Not that was he did was nasty anyways, but this team could use a little bit of that. Maybe the OLine wouldn’t get run over every game.

I really thought so too. There was tons of chatter for Ross and Chase but neither panned out. The rest weren’t really surprising. Actually, Ross and Chase weren’t surprising either. At the end all AU still has a nice class, just nothing really shocking here at the end.

We signed everyone who was previously committed plus signed Caleb Johnson. We missed on everyone else we were in the running for.

I am happy with our quality class but we usually have a five star or two. How much did the hot seat chatter burn us?

Honestly if I can give my two cents, it’s all about that mentality of staying home and putting on for the state school. I don’t know much about what it feels like to be a high school recruit, but I do know what the culture is like in these smaller GA counties that a lot of these guys are coming from. People here in GA, especially south GA, are life long GA fans, other schools do not exist. God and UGA football. I think what Richt missed was getting these “Down South Georgia Boys” to commit to that idea of being a “DSGB” and playing for the Dawgs. Kirby, however, is from Bainbridge, GA. He himself is a DSGB. He can sell that mentality to any of them because he comes from it. Now that he’s been able to sell it to a few of them those few have been able to sell it to a few more and so on and so forth. It basically sold itself, almost like shooting fish in a barrel. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying this is the case. I just know how these southern GA residents are. It’s UGA or nothing. To me as an Auburn fan I could care less about the appeal of this DSGB mentality, frankly I don’t understand it. However, it’s a HUGE thing that exist in south/middle GA.

I'm going to be honest, at first this hire did not impress me because he was not a "splash" hire. After doing some research on him myself, I feel a lot better than I did. I personally don't really think that he is one of Gus's "yes guys". One year as an analyst under Gus does not give me that impression. In fact, he ran a much more equal run/pass offense than Rhett/Gus did. I also do not think that is going to be a problem. If anything, that will be the so long as Gus keeps his hands out of the offensive cookie jar. I'm actually really glad we got an experienced QB coach in Lindsey. I do agree with the lack of recruiting experience being a problem but so long as AU is winning, recruiting will take care of itself. I'm excited for next season. AU either shows off and returns to dominance or AU is treated to a whole new staff next year and we all get to fill up 100+ pages on multiple boards. WDE!
